How to parse Rich Text for URLs?

I need a method to isolate several URLs from a block of Rich Text. Most would be of the form http:// or https:// ... but could end with .com, .net, .org, .jpg ... or any of the many others.

 

I see how I can probably use the two word parsing functions to build a “locator” function:

_GUICtrlRichEdit_GetCharPosOfNextWord

_GUICtrlRichEdit_GetCharPosOfPreviousWord

 

The function needs to produce an array containing all (only unique) urls in the control ... which could be a few hundred characters in length. In lieu of using the slightly-more-complex RichEdit functions, I’ve thought of doing a single GetText and then working with the String functions that I’m more familiar with.  Basically, the function will locate the prefix and then append all "continuous text" up to the next blank (although a terminating "." or "," will be a problem, I suppose).

 

But before I dive in, I thought I would ask: does anyone happen to know of a function for parsing RichText controls? (my search terms did not reveal one)  Otherwise, suggestions on how to proceed will be appreciated.

Please make an example RTF file and describe again what you want to do.

And by the way, you inspired me, and I think back to my old, deferred project associated with processing RTF files (among others RegExp inside Richedit)

mLipok, I certainly appreciate the contributions you've made to rich text processing.  And I know it's "traditionally correct" to post a best-shot example.  But at this moment, I'm a bit worn down from 10 days of working through these things.  Rich Text isn't all that easy when dealing with sources from other applications.  Lacking some specific suggestion, I'll just brute force the kind of method I outlined above.  I'm simply out of time.  I hope you'll understand.
