Creating this modification, I had to:

1. Object Error Handler used only for the duration of the function of Use,
2. Automatic ErrorHandler CleanUp so that previous ErrorHandler took the job.
3. Ability to get ErrorNumber and ErrorDescription ErrorScriptLine information even after the end of the function
4. Elimination of most global variables

EDIT 4: Download moved to "Download Section" (previously downloaded 379 times)

EDIT 5: at 2016/01/31 there was many script breaking changes

Thank you for sharing your revisions, mLipok.  I just wanted to ask is it best preactices to not use Global variables? Why did you have to have most of them removed?

I very long time was using Smtp Mailer That Supports Html And Attachments.

In the end, I found that at present my needs I need to modify it. And here it is:

Creating this modification, I had to:

1. Object Error Handler used only for the duration of the function of Use,
2. Automatic ErrorHandler CleanUp so that previous ErrorHandler took the job.
3. Ability to get ErrorNumber and ErrorDescription ErrorScriptLine information even after the end of the function
4. Elimination of most global variables

I say you why I use _INetSmtpMailCom_ErrDescription()

If this be a Global Variable then you must remember how this variable are named.

When this is a function then using CallTips or tools like SciTeJump you can easy develope you app. Simply, you do not need to have everything in your head.

Besides I think (IMHO) Au3Check and even AutoIt much better take care about unique Function Names then unique Variables Names, and you must remember about eventually problems with Variable Scopes and posibility to mistake with using Local and Global vars.

It is possible that other members have a different opinion, it is possible that they have other arguments to prove the validity of my coding style.

I'd love to seeing the Opinion, but in the thread on best coding practices.

do you think about this:

Saving Messages into ADO Stream Objects

VBScript
' Note: It is recommended that all input parameters be validated when they are
' first obtained from the user or user interface.
Sub SaveMessageToFile(iMsg, Filepath)
    Dim Stm
    Set Stm = CreateObject("ADODB.Stream")
    Stm.Open
    Stm.Type = adTypeText ' 2
    Stm.Charset = "US-ASCII"

    Dim iDsrc
    Set iDsrc = iMsg.DataSource
    iDsrc.SaveToObject Stm, "_Stream"

    Stm.SaveToFile Filepath, adSaveCreateOverWrite

End Sub

change this:

$objEmail.Send

to this:

_SaveMessageToFile($objEmail,@ScriptFullPath & '_BeforeSend.eml')
    $objEmail.Send

Do you compare results from:

_SaveMessageToFile($objEmail,@ScriptFullPath & '_BeforeSend.eml')
    $objEmail.Send
    _SaveMessageToFile($objEmail,@ScriptFullPath & '_AfterSend.eml')

Can you say something more about this two eml file ?

Nomally this means you didn't provide the correct server and/or port as it is unable to connect.... and correct ...there difference is the "wrapping". :)

This problem is related to Au3Check not to AutoIt or this UDF.

Please download newer version from here:

Thank you for the contribution, @mLipok.  When I try compiling it the errors shown below occur.  A few minutes before finding yours I successfully compiled and used the "original" from @JOS.  Any suggestions?  Also, have you written anything at noob level about how yours differs from the original and why you wrote it?

Small imp crept into my code :)
Thanks for revealing it.

I see now in the following snippet you are comment first two line and uncomennt two last line:

Local $iIPPort = 25 ; port used for sending the mail
    Local $bSSL = False ; enables/disables secure socket layer sending - set to True if using httpS
    ; Local $IPPort = 465  ; GMAIL port used for sending the mail
    ; Local $bSSL = True   ; GMAIL enables/disables secure socket layer sending - set to True if using httpS

but it:

Local $IPPort = 465

should be:

Local $iIPPort = 465

how you see there is small imp ;)
       $iIPPort <> $IPPort

EDIT:

Also, have you written anything at noob level about how yours differs from the original and why you wrote it?

Reason 1.
Post #1

Creating this modification, I had to:

1. Object Error Handler used only for the duration of the function of Use,
2. Automatic ErrorHandler CleanUp so that previous ErrorHandler took the job.
3. Ability to get ErrorNumber and ErrorDescription ErrorScriptLine information even after the end of the function
4. Elimination of most global variables

Reason 2:

Thank you mLipok!  Works great.

For morons like me I suggest you edit the Example Script comment to read:

;##################################
; Example Script  - TO USE THE EXAMPLE you must remove the semicolon before _Example() below.
;##################################

Also, please update the downloadable version in your OP as it does not contain the imp fix.

@mLipok,  would you please describe the meanings of the error values reported in the message box at the end of your Example?

@error
_INetSmtpMailCom_ErrHexNumber()
_INetSmtpMailCom_ErrDescription()
$rc

I wonder if there is any way to determine from the above info problems like "the recipient address wasn't found" or "the sender's password is invalid" -- just the basic stuff that can go wrong.  It would be nice have a hint as to the cause.

When I corrupt the password or recipient address and run the example I get roughly the same uninformative message.

      Good morning everyone

      I was playing a little bit with "Screen Capture" UDF, and I was trying to make a "Window" capture, but, since I made a GUI which through I fire the event "Capture", my GUI is captured as well, and I don't want to
      This is the line of code that makes the capture:

      _ScreenCapture_CaptureWnd($strScreenCaptureFileName, $objActiveWindow, 0, 0, -1, -1, False) And these are the lines of code which select the "active" window:

      Local $objCurrentWindow = 9999 If _IsPressed("01") Then $objCurrentWindow = WinGetHandle("[ACTIVE]") If $objCurrentWindow <> $objMyGUI Then $objActiveWindow = $objCurrentWindow EndIf EndIf Sorry If I made stupid mistakes
      Thanks in advance.

      Hi all,
      I am playing with _GUICtrlButton_Create function. How can i change this button's (or the entire form's) font ?. The in-built GUICtrlSetFont function is not working even when i convert the control handle to control ID with _WinAPI_GetDlgCtrlID ( ) function.  Do i need to use CreateFont api finction and send WM_SETFONT message ? Or is there any other easy and safe ways to do this ?. Thanks in advance.
      Note : This window is created by CreateWindowEx function, not by GUICreate function.

      Today I want to share this little project made to check and  notify the expiration of domain users password, in a Microsoft domain.
      Briefly, the script check users domain password expiration and takes actions.
      The script can work on multiple domain groups, taking different actions for every group, there is an .ini file with some options.
      Groups to be checked are defined in the .ini, and the groups must contain only users no other groups.
      The list of users of every group is obtained and if the password expiration in (remaining) days is matched (two possibilities) an email is sent.
      It can be a mail sent directly to the user (ini file : tomail=user) or it can be a mail sent to only one address (ini file : tomail=the@mail.it) (like domain admins...) and in this case the mail contains a report with the users approaching expiration.
      An operation log is always generated.
      In the ini (also the posted one) you can set to have no mail sent (for testing) and/or to have a GUI, but also the GUI is intended only for test, this script is scheduled on a server not logged in, so normally no GUI .
      Update 2018/03/16 : added switch to reset the password expiration, useful if you have for example an user (or 500) with psw expiration withing 3 days and you want to restore expiration within 90 days WITHOUT changing password.
      Used the way as advised by Microsoft  (see the link), but with sth AD.au3 , the fantastic Active Directory UDF
      # First change the pwdlastset to 0 because Microsoft wants it this way $todouser.pwdLastSet = 0 Set-ADUser -Instance $todouser # Change the pwdlastset to the current date/time of the associate DC $todouser.pwdLastSet = -1 Set-ADUser -Instance $todouser Why you should act this way ? Big companies have strange policies listen to me ...
      The code:

      Hey everyone,
      I thought I might share my little Language UDF plus the more powerful SciTE Tool to ship Strings from SciTE into the xml file. While I haven't had the time to fully adapt the small UDF to one of the big XML-UDFs the so called "Language Transmitter" that basically writes the XML file for you runs mostly on "XML DOM wrapper (COM)" by eltorro. The Transmitter should work with other XML-Language-UDFs depending on their encoding.

      First let's start with the UDF, there are two functions of interest: _LangInit($sFilePath) and s($sString) As you will have guessed, _LangInit($sFilePath) is called once to initialize the UDF and s($sString) is used to receive the string to your key. Plain and simple.
      Now to the actual "new" part, the Language Transmitter. It basically allows you to transfer a selected String from SciTE into a xml file. While doing so it will scan for AutoIt variables, macros etc. and parse the string to fit StringFormat(). It then saves the formatted string in the xml file and returns the formatted call into SciTE. If the selected string is already defined it will directly parse the key into SciTE. To change the default output file, you can either edit the ini-file in the @ScriptDir of the LanguageTransmitter.exe or press Alt+A on empty space again and keep clicking cancel/no until the Transmitter let's you select the current output file. Standard output is strings.xml in the current opened AutoIt Script.
      Example:
      ; given the line: MsgBox(16, 'Error', 'Error message') ; select 'Error' run the Transmitter follow the instructions, repeat with 'Error message'. Outcome (e.g.): MsgBox(16, s('Error'), s('Error_msg')) ; Variables and Macro example: $sString = "Value: " & $iValue & @CRLF & 'Another value: '& $iValue2 ; Select the full string including all AutoIt variables and macros etc. in SciTE and press Alt+A (default) to run the LanguageTransmitter ; follow the instructions and it will then paste a formatted string like that into SciTE: $sVar = StringFormat(s('Key'), $iValue, $iValue2) ; the correlating xml entry should look like that: ; <string name="Key">Value: %s\r\nAnother value: %s</string> ; as you can see @CRLF has been replaced with \r\n as well. If you are working on a project and want to directly add a string to the xml file just start the Language Transmitter without selecting any text, enter your string and a key.
      SetUp/Installation
      Examples
      Since xml files are required all examples can be found in the zip file. There are two examples, one includes a language selection interface.
      Language File Checker
      I added a script to check whether the xml file contains all required strings or even unnecessary strings.

      Hope you like my little helper!
