What is the best way to check for 3 pieces of text in a string?

Recommended Posts

Hi, im struggling with this issue, StringInStr could do the trick, but it doesn't seem to support 3 different strings to compare, StringRegExp is messy, i tried some ways, help was no help, so i hope you can.

So this will exemplify what i need:

$StrDropCheckFolder = StringInStr($__aGUIDropFiles[$i], ".mp3;.wav;.wma", 2)

Anything that contains those = true

I made the StringRegExp work, but only with one string at a time.

Couldn't find in help file the corresponding OR parameter.. and OR doesn't work in StringInStr.

Best regards.

Something like this ?

Local $aFiles[] = [ "1.mp3", "2.txt", "3.wav", "4.wma", "5.doc"]
For $i = 0 To UBound($aFiles) - 1
    If StringRegExp($aFiles[$i], "(?i)\.(?:wav|mp3|wma)$") Then ConsoleWrite($aFiles[$i] & @CRLF)
Next

Hi, thank you all, it is exactly that, now i've been looking at the help file, and what "czardas" posted is what is called a "Non-capturing group with reset" yes?

and what "jguinch" posted is a "Non-capturing group", have to be honest, i've seen them in the help file, but didn't have a clue it was what i was looking for.

Also im trying to understand what is what, and i've used (?i) to make whats next to it case in-sensitive, but why is "." this used between it and the grouped items?

About the $ at the end.. help file says: "Outside a character class, the dollar matches at the end of the subject text, and also just before a newline sequence if option (?m) is active."

So, like a final dot in a sentence? :P

Thanks

EDIT: after looking at it again, it seems the trailing backlash represents whats before the dot, and the dot, represents the extension dot, and is where it is, because it is common to the text in the group.

About the $ at the end of the pattern, just try this with and without the $  :)

$str = "test.mp3.bak"
Msgbox(0,"", StringRegExp($str, "(?i)\.(?:wav|mp3|wma)$") )

Yes, with it, it only searches the last bit, without it, searches all. Thank you

      Hi guys, really need your help. How can i check every 5 min if my text file include String "Markus". Btw i need this function to run on my Logs file that are updated whenever some event is triggered (logs appear in same txt file). So i did test some codding to test isit possible.
      But somehow, it only detect for the 1st time String check, and keep coming the same output every time, it didnt check/read on the current txt file that has been updated.
      For this purpose i update txt file manually so i put String "Markus" and check, and try to remove it agn.
      Here is my code:

      $file = FileOpen("c:\hello.txt", 0) $read = FileRead($file) func _CheckString() If StringInStr($read, "Markus") Then $position = StringInStr($read, "Markus") MsgBox(0,"","Alert Found - Logs Line No "&$position, 5) FileClose($file) Else MsgBox(0,"","No Alert found", 5) FileClose($file) EndIf EndFunc $Mins = 0.5 ; i change to fewer min for testing purpose $Timer = TimerInit() While 1 If TimerDiff($Timer) > ($Mins * 60000) Then ; count per minute multiplied by 60sec. _CheckString() ConsoleWrite("30 Sec have passed!" & @CRLF) ; console to see if its running. $Timer = TimerInit() EndIf WEnd

      Hi,
      I have a string like this :
      Global $Msga = "urrent directory is /send.  (Submission of file with log number 29381077284 is confirmed)";
      I want to extract the number 29381077284  from the string. I did StringSplit to split based on "(" and then use space to reach there, But it's not a good choice.
      Can anyone help me with regular expression to find the number from String using AutoIT. TIA

      I have this example string:

      2020-06-08 09:23:33 : abcdefghifjklm How to trim just the right part? Or how to trim this text right to left?
      I want to trim this string right to left until ' : '.
      In ohter words: I need the 'abcdefghifklm' text.
      I have tried StringTrimRight, but that requires
      The number of characters to trim. Unfortunately StringSplit trims the left part of the strings.

      This is my take on string triggers, triggers on specific strings.
      Able to simple text pasting,
      opening links (as long as there's a www. http:\\ or https:\\ at the beggining)
      and is able to open applications, if there is a parameter in the parameter field, it uses it.
      Shows your external, lan, and gateway ip's.
      Able to change system volume by a set percentage, reading from the inputbox the number the user sets, if 0 or empty uses system default.
      I made this because the existing string trigger applications didn't do it for me.
      I did this for me, but if someone finds it useful, all the better.

      Hi guys!, i have a problem to convert Python code to AutoIt code, in fact i had not coded with Python yet!, this code is about permutation a string's case, i will be happy with your comments :)❤;

      Python code:

      # Python code to print all permutations # with respect to cases # Function to generate permutations def permute(inp): n = len(inp) # Number of permutations is 2^n mx = 1 << n # Converting string to lower case inp = inp.lower() # Using all subsequences and permuting them for i in range(mx): # If j-th bit is set, we convert it to upper case combination = [k for k in inp] for j in range(n): if (((i >> j) & 1) == 1): combination[j] = inp[j].upper() temp = "" # Printing current combination for i in combination: temp += i print(temp), # Driver code permute("Hello") # This code is contributed by Sachin Bisht
      My code in AutoIt:
      ; https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/permute-string-changing-case/ _PermuteCase("ABC") Func _PermuteCase($sText) If StringRegExp($sText, "^[A-Za-z]{1,}$") Then Local $iLength = StringLen($sText) ; Get length of the text. Local $iMaxPerm = 2 ^ $iLength ; Number of permutations is 2^n Local $sLow_Text = StringLower($sText) ; Converting string to lower case Local $asChrs = StringToASCIIArray($sLow_Text) ; Split the text into array of chars. For $i = 1 To $iMaxPerm Step 1 For $j = 0 To $asChrs[0] ;................................................... Next Next Else Return SetError(-1, 0, "Error: Input is incorrect!") EndIf EndFunc ;==>_PermuteCase
