cabrunco Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Hi all, I made a simple GUI with an input field (code goes below). I compiled it and ran the executable. Then I tested the AutoIt v3 Windows Info utility to get the text. It does not work. I type in the input field different texts, and nothing works for the utility. However, if I write a script and use the function ControlGetText, I get any text I type in there. And also if I use ControlSend I can type to the field. Any reason for that? Thank you very much,MatheusCode:#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>$Form1 = GUICreate("JUJU", 110, 100, 450, 168)$Inputo1_1 = GUICtrlCreateInput("",5,50,100,20)GUISetState(@SW_SHOWNORMAL)While 1 $nMsg = GUIGetMsg() Switch $nMsg Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE Exit EndSwitchWEnd

Merged.[Mod Hat Off]I get the visible text in the input when I tested. Are you looking under the "Visible Text" tab? What version of AutoIt do you run?M23 Edited May 4, 2015 by Melba23 Any of my own code posted anywhere on the forum is available for use by others without any restriction of any kind Open spoiler to see my UDFs: Spoiler ArrayMultiColSort ---- Sort arrays on multiple columnsChooseFileFolder ---- Single and multiple selections from specified path treeview listingDate_Time_Convert -- Easily convert date/time formats, including the language usedExtMsgBox --------- A highly customisable replacement for MsgBoxGUIExtender -------- Extend and retract multiple sections within a GUIGUIFrame ---------- Subdivide GUIs into many adjustable framesGUIListViewEx ------- Insert, delete, move, drag, sort, edit and colour ListView itemsGUITreeViewEx ------ Check/clear parent and child checkboxes in a TreeViewMarquee ----------- Scrolling tickertape GUIsNoFocusLines ------- Remove the dotted focus lines from buttons, sliders, radios and checkboxesNotify ------------- Small notifications on the edge of the displayScrollbars ----------Automatically sized scrollbars with a single commandStringSize ---------- Automatically size controls to fit textToast -------------- Small GUIs which pop out of the notification area
cabrunco Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 Very sorry for sending twice. I tried to erase the first one from the other thread and couldn't find how. I will try not to make such mistakes again. The version I am using is 3.3.12.0. Well, it worked, thank you, when I look at the "Visible text" tab. Then I wonder what that "Text"under the "Control" tab is...Still, if I have several input fields, I get all the visible texts regardless of which control I choose. It is not a big deal, but a bit confusing. Thank you again!
