Chain functions

Recommended Posts

I got these function but somehow only the first one gets called.

test01()
test02()
test03()
test04()
test05()

Func test01()

    While 1
        ConsoleWrite("01")
    WEnd

EndFunc

Func test02()

    While 1
        ConsoleWrite("02")
    WEnd

EndFunc

Func test03()

    While 1
        ConsoleWrite("03")
    WEnd

EndFunc

Func test04()

    While 1
        ConsoleWrite("04")
    WEnd

EndFunc

Is there a way to accomplish this this way?

NiceBoy1234,

Of course only the first is called - how do you expect to escape the While...WEnd loop within it?

NiceBoy1234,

If you want the chained functions to repeat indefinitely then you could do something like this:

While
    test01()
    test02()
    test03()
    test04()
WEnd

Func test01()
    ConsoleWrite("01")
EndFunc

Func test02()
    ConsoleWrite("02")
EndFunc

Func test03()
    ConsoleWrite("03")
EndFunc

Func test04()
    ConsoleWrite("04")
EndFunc

Your WinExists might get stuck because there might be a dozen windows using that class open, then the code will wait until you close the program and not do anything else as long as it is still running.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

That is a really weird key combination to have held down all at once - c + x + y

Open Notepad, and attempt to do that combo, and you will find that only one key repeats, so the combo will never may not work.

If you are going to repeat _IsPressed you should be using the DllOpen method as per the Example anyway.

https://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/docs/libfunctions/_IsPressed.htm

However, your key combo will never may not work and so your code in that function will may never happen.

Hmmm sorry Santa  :)
However I agree with DllOpen

#include <Misc.au3>

Local $hDLL = DllOpen("user32.dll")
$n = 0
 While 1
 If _IsPressed("43", $hDLL) And _IsPressed("59", $hDLL) And _IsPressed("58", $hDLL) Then
     While _IsPressed("43", $hDLL) And _IsPressed("59", $hDLL) And _IsPressed("58", $hDLL)
        Sleep(10)
    WEnd
    $n += 1
        Tooltip("test " &  $n, 0, 0)
        ConsoleWrite("test " &  $n & @CRLF)
 EndIf
 Wend
DllClose($hDLL)

Well if that works, then I have learnt something new. :D

Other than the Notepad method, I had no AutoIt facility to try the combo, so I went for what seemed obvious ... no doubt a mistake. Still seems like an awful combo to me anyway ... I'd throw in a CTRL and or SHIFT and just use one letter ... if that.

Just to make it clear, you can't do this with native AutoIt functions, because that's what "chaining" functions means.

Function Example1()
    Return "First"
EndFunc

Function Example2()
    Return "Second"
EndFunc

Example1().Example2()

Dll seemed to solved the problem, it works now thanks.
I got one more little question, since I deleted the WinExists Method, what would be a better way to close the windows error window like "program does not work wait or close".
I tried to check with WinExists if that windows appears to close it immediately.

does this have to have excatly this name ?

user32.dll

Thus the window which I create with the shortcut does have same classname as the error window

      Hi everyone.
      I want to ask about this :
      I want it runs from 1 to 100 and It opens 10 firefox profiles then access youtube. After I close a firefox window, the loop runs and wait for another window close until loop ends
      I have a loop like this.
      Func launch() Local $from = Int(GUICtrlRead($input1)) Local $to = Int(GUICtrlRead($input2)) If $to <> "" Then While $from <= $to Local $profile = $to _RunDos("start firefox.exe -p " & $profile & " -no-remote youtube.com") $to=$to+1 WEnd Else Local $profile = $to _RunDos("start firefox.exe -p " & $profile & " -no-remote youtube.com") EndIf EndFunc Is there any solution?
      Thank you!

      First off, the project I'm working on revolves around AS/400 "Client Access software", it's foundation is directly influenced by the thread linked at the bottom of this post. Moving on, to explain the problem I'm facing; my project utilizes an infinite While loop and automatically performs semi-hard coded monotonous tasks to save users time and effort, the problem is, occasionally and unexpectedly "Display Messages" will popup and the core script will continue executing instead of dismissing said message and the script "breaks". As a countermeasure I've added some code to the While loop in an effort to intervene and dismiss these display messages before the core script has a chance to do anything... however it doesn't work. I hope I didn't do too bad of a job explaining that.
      So I think my question is: How can I temporarily "pause" the core script when these messages spontaneously appear?
      The only other solution I thought of would be to check if a display message has appeared before executing every line of code but that obviously isn't very practical.
      Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
      Thanks

      ;Loop to keep script running and handle display messages While 1 dismiss_display_messages() Sleep(50) WEnd ;Function to dismiss display messages Func dismiss_display_messages() If $ps.SearchText("Display Messages") Then $ps.SendKeys("[enter]", 8, 1) ;This while loop waits until the display message has disappeared to resume the core script While $ps.SearchText("Display Messages") Sleep(100) WEnd EndIf EndFunc

      Autoit team are assbags.    They want to hold out that they are soooo much smarter than everyone else and they really don't want to help anyone with their questions.   In that case then why have a website.   Oh i know, they get their kicks out of laughing at everyone.

      Hello all,
      Preface: Column A is full of courses. Column B is full of usernames. If course (A1) exists, we check to see if username (B1) is enrolled. If user is found, the user is un-enrolled. Then Loop.
      I am working on a script that loops through an Excel file and pastes the content from A1 into a textbox in IE, does some stuff, then pastes the content from B1 into a different textbox. Then it loops around until all used rows in columns A and B have been accounted for.
      For some reason, column A loops properly but column B doesn't. B1 is pasted over and over again. So, as it loops, B1 is constantly being pasted, first accompanying A1's loop, then A2, and so on.
      The OpenExcel() func opens the Excel file the user specifies in an earlier function. It's supposed to gather the entire used range of columns A and B. The SearchCourse() func only uses column A, pasting its content into a Search tool in IE. This seems to be working fine. SearchResult() puts "Course Not Found" into column C if the search fails. If the search is successful, however, we move onto... EnterCourse(). This simply gets us to the place where column B's content comes into play. UnenrollNow(). Here, we paste the variable $_userName into a textbox.
