I am trying to include file which include in name my local (polish) language characters like ąćę.

#include "ąćę.au3"

but I got error:

  Quote

"C:\Users\user\Desktop\autoit_test\test.au3"(2,10) : error: can't open include file "include_ąćę.au3".
#include "include_ąćę.au3"

Scite encoding is set to UTF-8 (File > Encoding > UTF-8).

My Scite settings:

  Quote

CodePage:65001

utf8.auto.check:4

character.set=238

When I do test with this command:

ConsoleWrite("ąćę" & @CRLF)

then I can see correctly output in my console

What am I missing? What's wrong here?

Nothing bad happend when you call the file name without diacratics char.
I'm doing this all the time with the same native language.

The culprit is Au3Check which doesn't seem to convert UTF8 filepaths in #include (and perhaps in other directives) to UTF16.

Maybe @Jos already has a beta version for fixing that. Else you can still use plain unaccented latin chars in your filenames.

You can create (but not AutoIt process) a file named ∇⋅ E = ρ ∕ ε₀ .au3 but it's just simpler to name it JCMaxLocal.au3 and AutoIt tools won't bark at you.

There is ZERO support in Au3Check/Tidy/Au3Stripper for none ASCII filenames at this moment and I have no plans to change that unless it is an easy change. (which sound unlikely :) )

Don't take my word "culprit" at face value. I meant "reason".

And widestring support isn't an emergency.

"Si ... entonces ... deOtraManera" did not work for me as well as "if .. then .. else". I guess everything is in english. In fact I just learned the meaning of the  word culprit, that is close to spanish culpable :P

So, ASCII to extended ASCII, to UTF's. Too many languages in this world. What a pain !.

I have worked on a workaround build in AutoIt3Wrapper to make Au3check/Au3Stripper/Tidy work with filenames containing doublebyte characters and have a beta version working.
It works on the principle that all filenames containing characters that aren't supported by these utilities will be copied to @tempdir\AutoIt3WrapperRunTmpFiles\their_ANSI_Filename.
Then within these temp files all #include statements that contains these filenames with be updated with it's tempfilename.
After that the utility is ran.
In case of Tidy and au3stripper, the tidied/stripped source is copied back from this tempdirectory to the correct filename as is expected.

Would appreciate when you guys can test this and let me know whether it works as expected.
This version 19.1127.1402.3 is available in Beta: AutoIt3Wrapper.au3

Strange, so I guess your situation is a little different.
Could you provide a set of test files in a zipfile for me, which fail for you, so I can test with those?

Ok...  this one has to do with the codepage as the ASCII characters are the same as the UTF8 characters and somehow au3check gets mixed up.
Will look for a way to test for this issue too and make tempfiles for them as well..... but am not sure yet what the best approach is.

stay tuned.

You are not running the new version !  it should show 19.1127.1402.4 in stead of 19.1127.1402.3!

Great!
I did another update as I wasn't really happy with the way I was replacing the characters in a loop, and figured out a nice StringRegexReplace() to do that in one line:

$nScriptFileName = StringRegExpReplace($nScriptFileName, "[\x{0080}-\x{FFFF}]", "u")

Could you update to this .5 version a test that as well for me?
Thanks,
Jos
