Au3Recorder not showing

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but for me the Au3Recorder is not showing in the tools.

This is what I did:

1. Downloaded and installed Autoit from here

2. Downloaded and installed the Script Editor from here

3. Downloaded Version autoit-v3.3.14.0 as a ZIP from here

4. Opened the ZIP and copied the "/install/Extras/Au3Record" Folder into the install directory under "C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\Extras"

5. Created a .au3 file and opened it with the editor

I expected it under "tools", but it's not there:

 

 

What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to AutoIt and the forum!
Nothing wrong with your approach.
The recorder has been removed from AutoIt.
Search the forum for AU3Recorder and you will find why

I see. I thought copying the files from the old installation zip files would be a workaround to still be able to use the AU3Recorder? Maybe I got that wrong. Is there any alternative for recording scripts?

Correct as it isn't defined anymore in au3.properties as an tool, simply because it isn't supported anymore.

This thread has some code to record the mouse clicks and movement.

That being said, you will learn a lot more and faster, if you do it by yourself.

Let us know what is the end goal, and we point you in the right direction.
