C++ MessageBox() and showing interger variables

I am trying to use messagebox() like msgbox(), but harder then I think. I have tried many variations online, but not actually show me the values

int var1 = 10

int var2 = 20

I want to have the message box show the two values along with text explaining which number is showing

sudocode

showstring = 'Variable 1 ' & var1 & ' variable 2 ' & var2

messagebox(NULL, showstring)

How do I go about doing this? Any links or code would be helpful - Thanks

I have tried that, but always get an error - stating that the variables are mix matched, something about LPCWSTR

here is what I have tried

char text1[] = "hello world";

MessageBox(NULL, text1, NULL, NULL);

ERROR:

C2664: 'MessageBoxW' : cannot convert parameter 2 from 'char [12]' to 'LPCWSTR'

I have also used

sprintf (string, var1); // is that right,

and get similar error, not at my computer right now, so cannot get the exact error, but has LPCWSTR conflict

I have seen so many examples online, it seems someone would have created a function like our MsgBox() in AutoIt, where it just prints it in the msgbox - duh...all this just to find out what the variables values are showing. I know there must be a better way, but I have not touched C++ in many years, and when I did it was all DOS, no windows and no IDE

I will try that, but think I have tried that one as well...I should have come better repaired, with all the code I have tried. I got so pissed, I was commenting out the one from before, then trying a new one, then commenting out that one...uninstalled and reinstalled studio express, as the path for include seemed to not be working, even though I tried running the vsvar32.bat (or something like that in the tools folder), but did not work. Then I deleted everything and started looking again. There just seems that, everyone has an idea, but none of them worked for mean and there were lots of them ie stringstream

Simply change the character set of your project to "Multi-Byte Character Set" and all of the above codes will work.

noob (I am, not you) - I know where the properties are for the project, but where would I set/change that setting, under what tab (for lack of a better term, as they are on the side of the screen)

And thanks for everyone's help...I so wish that there was a forum, similar to this one, for C++, with all the same great helping people. Most of the threads I found, reminded me of some people hoarding the info...they would say, "look up stringf and find out what parameters it takes, and you will be good" - right?

also, I added the include to the C/C++ other include directories, is that a bad thing? As, like I said, I never seen the changes for the OS Path, to show the folders to include the files coming from the Include directory. And that batch file in the tools directory, did not appear to do anything, even though I looked at the file, and it would seem like it would do what was described, add all the paths to the environmental path of the OS.

all that time spent (4+ hours - trying different things from all over the net), and it was a configuration issue - wtf...cannot wait to get home and see if this works, I thank you if it works, and I thank you for your time if it does not. I got about 4 hours left before I can check it out, but will report as soon as I can

There is some macros like TEXT() and L()... BTW, the previous post will do the job for you.

I can see you've never coded in C++ before (with the Windows API).

It's a function from the Windows API, pretty much the same one Autoit uses, just different syntax.
