Realm Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Does Ctrl+b work to expand so we know that the basics work? What file is opened when you do: OptionsOpen Abbreviations file? What is its contents? The Abbreviations file is empty. I tried adding those 2 lines to it, but it would not let me save under my personal user account. I jumped onto my admin account and it still will not let me save or modify the file. Says I need administrator's permissions. Strange to get even from my Administrator account. Check the Environment settings for and SCITE_???? keyword, since these are used by SciTE to locate the User directory. Realm Posted March 12, 2015 Author Posted March 12, 2015 Did you look at the file security? Go into the advanced window and make sure you have the ownership! Jos I changed my pc name after I downloaded AutoIt the first time. I don't believe it has anything to do with it though because I have had this same issue since before I changed it. File security shows that my personal account, admin account, and system all has access to it. Developers Jos Posted March 12, 2015 Developers Posted March 12, 2015 You are not showing your rights to the directory but the SYSTEM account rights when i see it correctly. You really should ensure to own the directories and files in that sub directory: click advanced on the shown window click owner ensure the onwership is your active userid Jos SciTE4AutoIt3 Full installer Download page - Beta files Read before posting How to post scriptsource Forum etiquette Forum Rules Live for the present, Dream of the future, Learn from the past.
Realm Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) I was showing the wrong user the other day. I have it on the correct user, Environment variable is pointing to it, and have ownership. It is still not working for me I still could not save the abbreviations file either Edit: I created the abbrev.properties file in another directory and moved it into the proper directory. It called for admin permission, but the file is in place now. However abbreviations are still not working. Developers Jos Posted March 13, 2015 Developers Posted March 13, 2015 Ok, so you have the proper rights now for abbrev.properties? What about the content of file au3abbrev.properties and the directory in the SCITE_USERHOME environment variable? Realm Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 I'm new with Win7, I was one of those reluctant fools to wait forever to leave XP. Developers Jos Posted March 13, 2015 Developers Posted March 13, 2015 I think you are still showing me the security for the system account. are you sure you selected your userid before taking the screenshot? The au3abbrev.properties must be located in the same directory as abbrev.properties. When you have used the installer and ran that under a different account you simply need to copy all files from that used account directory into you own %localuserdata% directory and change the file security so you ow it and have "Full Control". This really should be pretty straight forward.
