A Friend told me about this. so I got interesting in.

¿Did you know I was able to play sound directly from link using soundplay?

SoundPlay("http://www.freesfx.co.uk/rx2/mp3s/10/12598_1439008511.mp3",1)

should help file talks about it? I work for me a least wit mp3 hot link. with wav it doesn't.

I looked into soundplay funtion and noticed that it use mciSendString but I looked in msdn and it does say nothing about passing urls.

mciSendString only sends a command to a device, it doesn't have anything to do with the file you want played.

This is a list of commands it recognizes.

I just realized that the command sent to the device can have the file name appended to it, such as the Open command will take the filename as the open parameter. I read it too fast without doing my due diligence.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

I know that KingBob. I talk about internally do this:

mciSendStringW ( "open "http://www.freesfx.co.uk/rx2/mp3s/10/12598_1439008511.mp3" alias PlayMe", NULL, 0, NULL )

I looked again and see that it create an Audio Client that allow play the stream from the url.
