This is my auto it script

Local $Filename="d$\BSS\MyAccounts\Web.config"
Local $fname=FileOpen($Filename)
$oxml=ObjCreate("Microsoft.XMLDOM")
$oxml.load($fname)

$okey=$oxml.selectSinglenode("//add[@key='ReqPerCode']")
ConsoleWrite($okey)
$okey.setAttribute("Value","True")
ConsoleWrite($okey)

Have to pass the key name("ReqPerCode") from selenium script to autoit...instead of giving the keyname in

$okey=$oxml.selectSinglenode("//add[@key='RegPerCode']")

My question is how you "transport/move" xml content beetwen Selenium and AutoIt ? As a XML File ?

Hi mLipok,

  Reveal hidden contents

Im just trying to pass parameter(which is the keyname in config file) from selenium script to autoit.

This is my Configuration tag.

<add key="SmtpPassword" value="lyca123"/>

This is my autoitscript to change the attirbute value of config file.

#include <File.au3>
#include <Array.au3>
Local $iCountLines = _FileCountLines("D:\AutoItScripts\Web.config") ;
Global $file="D:\AutoItScripts\Web.config" , $search="SmtpPassword"
;"SmtpPassword"  ;$CmdLine[1]
Global $iline=0,$Sline= ' ',$ivalid=0
Global $hfile=FileOpen($file)
Global $avalue,$line

if $hfile=-1 Then
    MsgBox (0,'Error','unable to open file')
    Exit 1
EndIf
Local $iCountLines = _FileCountLines("D:\AutoItScripts\Web.config") ; Retrieve the number of lines in the current script.
While 1
    $iline+=1
    $Sline=FileReadLine($hfile)
    if $Sline=-1 then ExitLoop

if StringInStr($Sline,$search) and Not $ivalid Then
    $ivalid=1
    $avalue=$Sline
    ;FileWrite('D:\AutoItScripts\Web.config',StringRegExpReplace($avalue, "lyca7869", "lyca"))
    Local $sOutput = StringRegExpReplace($avalue, "lyca123", "@")
    ConsoleWrite($sOutput)
    ConsoleWrite(' Testing line : '& $iline)
    _FileWriteToLine($file,$iline,$sOutput,True)
ExitLoop
EndIf

WEnd
WinWaitActive("Reload","Yes")
Send("!y")
WinClose("D:\AutoItScripts\Web.config - Notepad++")
FileClose($hfile)

I can able to change tag value using this script wihtout passing parameters from selenium scripts.

I want to get $search value from selenium scripts.

I tried this in selenium script "Runtime.getRuntime().exec("D:\\AutoItScripts\\fileconcept.exe" + Keyname);

//keyname is the parameter which i have to pass it to autoit file.

When i tried with this code its not working..is thr anyother way to do it.

@Raji

not sure how much programming knowledge you have. Based on that its just a matter of implementation.

You have to show some more coding / information on how you defined your intended solution

  • Why do you write your test partly in java and partly in AutoIt? Its more efficient to do it all in 1 language.
  • You started with: How can I pass from selenium script a value to AutoIt without giving your programming language (apparently now you revealed its java)
    • It seems like your solutionattempt is :     to write it from Java to an XML file
    • then from XML your want to load it into AutoIt script but you write "This is my autoitscript to change the attirbute value of config file."
    • which suggest you want to write to the xml file from AutoIt.

My solution would be

  1. 1. make in AutoIt a small tcp/ip http listener
    see help files https://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/docs/functions/TCPSend.htm
  2. 2. base on 1 make Java the client to talk to the server as copy / pasted from help

so then no intermediate xml file where you need to sync on when its save to read etc.
