Memory Questions...leak?

How do I go about looking in areas of my code for what appears to be a memory leak.  My program starts at about 30k, and over time can grow to 1gb, so something is going on, but I am not even sure what could be the cause of this? Can someone tell me where I should start looking? I have found this function to be the cause, as when I remove it, the leak stops...

Does you script still work as it's supposed to without that function, and does $fAlarmFileName grow to the same size as your leak?

Do not define variables in a loop.

No, but I did now just look at the file...it must have been corrupted somehow...deleting the contents fixed my issue, so I will have to put some code in to check the files contents - thanks so much for the idea.

I took them out, but that did not resolve the issue - bad coding on my part though, and thanks.

As this can't be the whole script I'm sure the memory leak is somewhere else in your code.

Not the whole script, no, but the only part that when taken out made a difference. I found it was the INI file itself, here is what it looked like, once I deleted the data, the leak stopped.
