I have one autoit script which will help me to download files. In local it works fine as windows will be active all time when I am using.

But if I run same scripts in remote machine and if I minimize remote machine scripts are not working. Below is my code

WinActivate("Bill view - Google Chrome")
WinWaitActive("Bill view - Google Chrome")
Sleep(2000)
ControlClick("Bill view - Google Chrome", "", "","left", 1, 1157, 238)
Sleep(3000)
WinActivate("Save As")
WinWaitActive("Save As")
ControlClick("Save As","","ToolbarWindow324")
Sleep(2000)
ControlSend("Save As","","[CLASS:Edit; INSTANCE:2]","^a")
Sleep(2000)
ControlSend("Save As","","[CLASS:Edit; INSTANCE:2]",$CmdLine[1])
Sleep(2000)
ControlSend("Save As","","","{Enter}")
Sleep(3000)
ControlClick("Save As","","Button2")
Sleep(3000)
If WinExists("Confirm Save As") Then
Sleep(3000)
ControlClick("Confirm Save As","","Button2")
ControlClick("Save As","","Button3")
EndIf

if the script is running from your own computer, WinWaitActive cannot find the specific window, because the window  does not exist on your  computer

the same goes for the  WinActivate, WinExists, ControlClick,

Take a look Why doesn't my script work on a locked workstation?

Or run script on remote PC, by order from local PC

Basically anything related to Windows, Mouse and Send will not work if there's not a connected monitor or remote session. Check out:

And: https://www.autoitscript.com/wiki/FAQ#Why_doesn.27t_my_script_work_on_a_locked_workstation.3F

One solution to this problem is to have the remote machine do a RDP session to itself. I do this at work to run things on an always on VM when I'm not connected to it.

We ought not to misbehave, but we should look as though we could.

@ioa747 scripts are running in my VM machine only, as long as you dont minimize Remote Machine and if its not locked autoit scripts work. In any other case not working.

If I use WinWait() instead winactiavte(), in local only scripts are not working

@mistersquirrleI cant rdp to the same machine inside rdp as access denied it shows

Thank you all! It did work for me in remote machine when minimized or when remote machine not active.

Why doesn't my script work on a locked workstation?

On a locked station any window will never be active (active is only dialog with text "Press Ctrl+Alt+Del"). In Windows locked state applications run hidden (behind that visible dialog) and do not have focus and active status. So generally don't use Send() MouseClick() WinActivate() WinWaitActive() WinActive() etc. Instead use ControlSend() ControlSetText() ControlClick() WinWait() WinExists() WinMenuSelectItem() etc. Doing so allows you to interact with an application regardless of whether it is active or not. It's possible to run such a script from scheduler on locked Windows stations.
