Your script is a real mess, and I'm not sure you understand what you're doing in the MemoWrite function with all the messages. Regardless, your problem is that you have not shown the GUI before you call the MemoWrite function. That causes most of your commands to fail. Move GUISetState above your first MemoWrite call.

Understood. But keep in mind that you need to create some organization and sanity when learning new things. Otherwise you find yourself in the situation you are in where many things are going wrong at once, and you will find it very difficult to debug.
