StringSplit is obviously case sensitive in regards to the delimiter.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.

Yes, there is no doubt.

Why, though, in the third example, the array contains only:
Row|Col 0
[0]|2
[1]|
[2]| 47 1020

Why this piece of code:

Local $aTest3 = StringSplit($sData2, 'Nr KONTA:', 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest3, '$aTest3')

Does not give such results:

The alleged result for $aTest3[1]

NR KONTA: 47 1020

The alleged result for  $aTest3[2]
64 1910
NR KONTA: 30 2030
NR KONTA: 03 1020
NR KONTA: 77 1020
NR KONTA: 35 1090
NR KONTA: 28 1240
NR KONTA: 07 1020
NR KONTA: 29 1240

mLipok,

Interesting. It seems that StringSplit does not like spaces in a delimiter when using $STR_ENTIRESPLIT. If you remove the space it works as expected:

#include <Array.au3>

Local $sData1 = "NR KONTA: 11 1111" & @CRLF & _
        "NR KONTA: 22 2222" & @CRLF & _
        "Nr KONTA: 33 3333" & @CRLF & _
        "NR KONTA: 44 4444" & @CRLF & _
        "Nr KONTA: 55 5555" & @CRLF & _
        "NR KONTA: 66 6666" & @CRLF & _
        "Nr KONTA: 77 7777" & @CRLF & _
        "NR KONTA: 88 8888" & @CRLF & _
        "Nr KONTA: 99 9999" & @CRLF & _
        "NR KONTA: 00 0000" & @CRLF & _
        ""
Local $sData2 = StringReplace($sData1, "NR KONTA", "NR_KONTA")

Local $aTest1 = StringSplit($sData1, 'NR_KONTA:', 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest1, 'Org - NR')

Local $aTest2 = StringSplit($sData2, 'NR_KONTA:', 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest2, 'Mod - NR')

Local $aTest3 = StringSplit($sData2, 'Nr_KONTA:', 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest3, 'Mod - Nr')
So I think a bug - or at least a mention in the Help file if it is too difficult to fix in the short term. :)

This bug has been around for at least the last two stable releases. I'm amazed it hasn't been reported until now.

Melba,

It's not a trouble with spaces, it looks like a trouble with case sensitivity management

#include <Array.au3>

Local $sData1 = "ab1aB2ab3ab4ab5"

Local $aTest1 = StringSplit($sData1, 'ab', 1)
; expected result :
;
; 1aB2
; 3
; 4
; 5
_ArrayDisplay($aTest1, '$aTest1')

Local $aTest2 = StringSplit($sData1, 'aB', 1)
; expected result :
; ab1
; 2ab3ab4ab5
_ArrayDisplay($aTest2, '$aTest2')

I do some further test:

NEW REPRO:

#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>

        ""

Local $sData2 = StringReplace($sData1, "NR KONTA: 62 2030", "Nr KONTA: 62 2030")
ClipPut($sData2)

Local $aTest1 = StringSplit($sData1, 'NR KONTA:', 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest1, '$aTest1')

Local $aTest2 = StringSplit($sData2, 'NR KONTA:', 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest2, '$aTest2')

Local $aTest3 = StringSplit($sData2, 'Nr KONTA:', 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest3, '$aTest3')

    MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "Question", " Why ? " & @CRLF & " $aTest1[$aTest1[0]] <> $aTest2[$aTest2[0]] " & @CRLF & $aTest1[$aTest1[0]] & " <> " & $aTest2[$aTest2[0]], 10)

MsgBox($MB_SYSTEMMODAL, "New $sData2 Content", $sData2, 10)
Local $aTest = StringSplit($sData1, @CRLF, 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest, 'New $aTest')

Local $aTest1 = StringSplit($sData1, 'NR_KONTA:', 1)

_ArrayDisplay($aTest2, 'New $aTest2')

Local $aTest3 = StringSplit($sData2, 'Nr_KONTA:', 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest3, 'New $aTest3')

this issue still occurs

and new test

Local $aTest = StringSplit($sData1, @CRLF, 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest1, 'New $aTest')

gives new bad results :(

Isn't it a typo in there

Local $aTest = StringSplit($sData1, @CRLF, 1)
_ArrayDisplay($aTest1, 'New $aTest')

using $aTest1 instead of $aTest ?

That's why I built my previous example code as simple as possible, to bring out the case sensitivity issue

So I suggest that you delete (if possible) or modify your trac ticket and use inside it a much more simple example code, to bring out the issue in an as eloquent as possible way and get rid of spaces, crlf and all W characters etc

You mean something like this:

#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>
#include <array.au3>
Local $sData1 = "NR_KONTA:471020" & @CRLF & _
        "NR_KONTA:622030" & @CRLF & _

        ""

Local $sData2 = StringReplace($sData1, "NR_KONTA:622030", "Nr_KONTA:622030")

_ArrayDisplay($aTest2, '$aTest2')

Local $aTest3 = StringSplit($sData2, 'Nr_KONTA:', 1)

or even this:

#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3>

I mean that your current example is a bit complicated, thus it allows confusion because of the spaces (c.f. Melba's post), the @crlf, the colon

Did you try mine ?

Edit :

checking the issue

#include <Array.au3>

Local $sData1 = "ab1aB2ab3ab4ab5"    ; this doesn't work

Local $aTest1 = StringSplit($sData1, 'ab', 1)
; expected result :
;
; 1aB2
; 3
; 4
; 5
_ArrayDisplay($aTest1, '$aTest1')

Local $aTest2 = StringSplit($sData1, 'aB', 1)
; expected result :
; ab1
; 2ab3ab4ab5
_ArrayDisplay($aTest2, '$aTest2')

;===============================

Local $sData2 = "ab1Ab2ab3ab4ab5"    ; this works

Local $aTest3 = StringSplit($sData2, 'ab', 1)
; expected result :
;
; 1Ab2
; 3
; 4
; 5
_ArrayDisplay($aTest3, '$aTest3')

Local $aTest4 = StringSplit($sData2, 'Ab', 1)
; expected result :
; ab1
; 2ab3ab4ab5
_ArrayDisplay($aTest4, '$aTest4')
