jguinch Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 You should also add quotes for the printer name : Run(@ScriptDir & '\SumatraPDF.exe -print-to "' & $SelectedPrinter & '" "' & $selectedfolder & '\' & $aFileList[$i] & '"') Spoiler Network configuration UDF, _DirGetSizeByExtension, _UninstallList Firefox ConfigurationArray multi-dimensions, Printer Management UDF
antmar904 Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) Thank you all again, jguinch this worked Run(@ScriptDir & '\SumatraPDF.exe -print-to "' & $SelectedPrinter & '" "' & $selectedfolder & '\' & $aFileList[$i] & '"') However i am stil faced with the issue that the pdf's are not printing out in order as they are listed in the folder. The script is listing the files correctly but not sending the pdf's in the correct order to the printer. Directory structer is: _B.pdf A.pdf B.pdf Printer order is: A.pdf _B.pdf B.pdf Edited September 17, 2014 by antmar904

antmar904 Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) That work however the jobs are sent to the printer in order (as listed in the folder) but the printer prints the files in alphabetical order regardless of what the printer queue says. Is "RunWait" suppose to wait until the first job is finished then send the next file to the printer? If so, that is not working. Ok, Here is the ConsoleWrite output: C:StuffScriptsAutoITPrintDirPDFv1.2SumatraPDF.exe -print-to "HP LaserJet 1020" "C:TempTestA.pdf"C:StuffScriptsAutoITPrintDirPDFv1.2SumatraPDF.exe -print-to "HP LaserJet 1020" "C:TempTestB.pdf"C:StuffScriptsAutoITPrintDirPDFv1.2SumatraPDF.exe -print-to "HP LaserJet 1020" "C:TempTest_B.pdf" While 1 $nMsg = GUIGetMsg() Switch $nMsg Case $btnBrowse $selectedfolder = FileSelectFolder("Select a directory to print", "C:") GUICtrlSetData($folder, $selectedfolder) $aFileList = _FileListToArray($selectedfolder, "*", $FLTA_FILES) GUICtrlSetData($List1, "") If IsArray($aFileList) Then For $i = 1 To $aFileList[0] GUICtrlSetData($List1, $aFileList[$i]) Next EndIf Case $btnPrint $SelectedPrinter = ControlGetText("PrintDirPDF", "", $Combo1) If IsArray($aFileList) Then For $i = 1 To $aFileList[0] ConsoleWrite(@ScriptDir & '\SumatraPDF.exe -print-to "' & $SelectedPrinter & '" "' & $selectedfolder & '\' & $aFileList[$i] & '"') ;ShellExecute($aFileList, '', '', 'print') Next EndIf Case $btnCancel Exit Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE ExitLoop EndSwitch WEnd Edited September 18, 2014 by antmar904
antmar904 Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Anyone? I am looking to have the pdf files print in order exactly how they are shown in the folder.
BrewManNH Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 The only way that could work would be to get the file list from Windows Explorer and not through the file functions in AutoIt. Windows won't give them to you in any set order, so you'd have to grab them from the window. Why exactly do they need to be printed in a certain order? Does it really matter all that much what order they're printed in? If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.Give a programmer the correct code and he can do his work for a day. antmar904 Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Yes the order does matter because the user that will be using this will be printing out hundreds of tax returns by state and they all have to be printed out exactly the way they are shown in the folder. I can get a list of the files as they are shown in the folder but when i send them to the printer, Windows automatically prints them in alphabetical order regardless of the file name. Can you help me get the file list from the Windows Explorer window?
