IUtilizeScripts Posted March 9, 2016 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Hello all, Would you please give me some direction on selecting an option from a Dropdown List on a website? Here is an excerpt from the website's source: expandcollapse popup<table cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3" align="Center" rules="cols" border="3" id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_gridviewUnitList" style="border-color:White;border-width:3px;border-style:Outset;font-size:Small;width:403px;z-index: 100; left: 0px; position: absolute; top: 0px"> <tr class="TableHeader"> <th scope="col">Unit#</th><th scope="col">Driver Name</th><th scope="col">Select Option</th> </tr><tr class="TableCell"> <td align="center" valign="middle" style="width:10%;white-space:nowrap;"> 14845</td><td align="center" valign="middle" style="width:10%;white-space:nowrap;">Last, First M</td><td align="center" valign="middle" style="width:8%;white-space:nowrap;"> <select name="ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$gridviewUnitList$ctl02$dropdownlistSelectOption" onchange="javascript:setTimeout('__doPostBack(\'ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$gridviewUnitList$ctl02$dropdownlistSelectOption\',\'\')', 0)" id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_gridviewUnitList_ctl02_dropdownlistSelectOption" title=" 14845BREDO 14845" class="DropDownList01" style="width:138px;z-index: 100; left: 4px; position: relative; top: 0px"> <option selected="selected" value=""></option> <option value="Available Loads by Agency">Available Loads by Agency</option> <option value="Available Loads by State">Available Loads by State</option> <option value="Available Loads - Advanced">Available Loads - Advanced</option> <option value="Available LTL">Available LTL</option> <option value="Dispatched Loads">Dispatched Loads</option> <option value="Info">Info</option> <option value="Matched Loads">Matched Loads</option> <option value="Messages">Messages</option> <option value="Preferences">Preferences</option> </select> </td> </tr> </table> </div> </div> <span id="ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_labelUnitListError" class="Error01" style="display:inline-block;width:332px;z-index: 107; left: 435px; position: absolute; top: 3px"> </span> </div> </td> </tr> </table> </td> <td class="RightBorder" style="height: 665px; width: 12px;"> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table> <div Style="z-index:222" align="center" class="copyright" </div> </form> It appears that the Dropdown List is within a table that is within a form. IUtilizeScripts Posted March 9, 2016 Author Share Posted March 9, 2016 I appreciate your prompt reply. I receive the following error messages: --> IE.au3 T3.0-2 Warning from function _IEGetObjById, $_IESTATUS_NoMatch (ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_gridviewUnitList_ctl02_dropdownlistSelectOption) --> IE.au3 T3.0-2 Error from function _IEFormElementOptionSelect, $_IESTATUS_InvalidDataType Do you have an idea as to why there is "NoMatch" since the object can be clearly seen in the website's source? mLipok Posted March 9, 2016 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Test your website like this: _IEFrameGetCollection($oIE) MsgBox(0, 'Test', 'Whether on the website are frames: ' & (@extended > 0)) then if you found that this is true, you should try something like this: Local $oFrame = _IEFrameGetCollection($oIE,1) Local $oIE_ctl102 = _IEGetObjById($oFrame, 'ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_gridviewUnitList_ctl02_dropdownlistSelectOption') _IEFormElementOptionSelect($oIE_ctl102, 3, 1, 'byIndex') You should to know that each frame is separate IE Document, so you need to treat it as separate $oIE "main" object. IUtilizeScripts Posted March 9, 2016 Author Share Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) The result of the frame collection test was false. Accordingly, there were No Matches for the subsequent code. Do you think I may be encountering a problem because the webpage contains javascript? Edited March 9, 2016 by IUtilizeScripts Grammar Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mLipok Posted March 9, 2016 Share Posted March 9, 2016 Sleep(5000) ; for test only _IEFrameGetCollection($oIE) MsgBox(0, 'Test', 'Whether on the website are frames: ' & (@extended > 0)) add Sleep(5000) ; 5 second If JavaScript doing anything then I think 5 second is enough to JavaScript end his work. But in this case I do not think that JavaScript will create separate Frames , rather works inside, on of document. Of course JavaScript can navigate one of existing Frames to other document (e.g. different URL), but in this case Frames will exist befor JavaScript start his work. IUtilizeScripts Posted March 9, 2016 Author Share Posted March 9, 2016 You are brilliant! Thank you for leading me in the write direction! Once I utilized _IEAttach using $sMode "url" I was able to select the option immediately. Thanks for being an active AutoIt supporter and MVP!
