Hi Guys,

Need a help. How to extract a div "value" based on "name" from the below code? In this case, I need "79067" as output.

<td class="yui-dt0-col-rowmetadata yui-dt-col-rowmetadata yui-dt-hidden yui-dt-last" headers="yui-dt0-th-rowmetadata ">
<div class="yui-dt-liner">
<div>
<div value="9" name="category"></div>
<div value="79067" name="folderid"></div>
<div value="-1" name="reqid"></div>
<div value="0" name="md_recipienttype"></div>
<div value="0" name="hrstatusvalue"></div>
<div value="28-Mar-2016" name="hrstatusaddedon"></div>
<div value="28-Mar-2016" name="hrstatusactiondate"></div>
<div value="57" name="md_currenthrfolderid"></div>
<div value="17" name="md_previoushrfolderid"></div>
<div value="200" name="md_hrfldrcode"></div>
<div value="415" name="md_hrstatus_userid"></div>
<div value="79067" name="md_fid"></div>
<div value="29570" name="md_rid"></div>
<div value="44" name="md_rftid"></div>
<div value="0" name="md_rsts"></div>
<div value="1" name="md_myfolder"></div>
<div value="0" name="md_afl"></div>
<div value="1" name="md_rfl"></div>
<div value="en" name="md_rlg"></div>
</div>
</div>
</td>

I tried the below code but no result. Please help.

$tags = _IETagNameGetCollection($oIE, "div")
For $tag In $tags
    If String($tag.name) = "folderid" Then
    $FolderID = String($tag.value)
        MsgBox(0,"",$FolderID)
    EndIf
Next

You could also use:

#include <IE.au3>

$oIEF = _IEAttach("", "instance", 1)
$Elements = $oIEF.document.getElementsByName("folderid")
MsgBox(0, "", $Elements.length)
MsgBox(0, "", $Elements.item(0).value)

Again same error. I think, as I am using online Autoit compiler, it's not recognizing the function _IEquerySelectorAll. I am working on my office laptop and not allowed to install Autoit, hence using online compiler.

Any alternate?

Hey MichaelHB... "folderid" is not an element but an innertext I guess, however, let me give a try. Will keep you posted. Thanks

Thanks mLipok but as I mentioned earlier, I am using the online Autoit compiler and not the SciTE editor where I can add this function in IE.au3 in Include folder. I guess this compiler takes the old native IE.au3 code set and hence not recognizing this new function. But I am definitely gonna try this code on my Desktop machine once I am back home. Thanks a ton.

There is 5 elements in the website with the name "folderid", just use For/Next to get to value you want. Like this:

#include <IE.au3>

$oIEF = _IEAttach("", "instance", 1)
$Elements = $oIEF.document.getElementsByName("folderid")
MsgBox(0, "Number of Elements", $Elements.length)
For $i = 0 to $Elements.length - 1
    MsgBox(0, "Element number: " & $i+1, $Elements.item($i).value)
Next

Let me correct you here. There are no 5 elements with the element name as "folderid". Your code actually brings the length of folderid (79067) as 5 which is correct.

<div value="79067" name="folderid"></div>

However, it doesn't shows the actual value. It's not recognizing "item($i)" function and giving error.

add is the layperson term, for offering as an addendum.  He means quite literally copy that function and paste it into your script (at the very bottom would probably be the most logical place) prior to hitting F5/F7.

There is 5 elements in the website with the name "folderid", just use For/Next to get to value you want. Like this:

#include <IE.au3>

$oIEF = _IEAttach("", "instance", 1)
$Elements = $oIEF.document.getElementsByName("folderid")
MsgBox(0, "Number of Elements", $Elements.length)
For $i = 0 to $Elements.length - 1
    MsgBox(0, "Element number: " & $i+1, $Elements.item($i).value)
Next

Let me correct you here. There are no 5 elements with the element name as "folderid". Your code actually brings the length of folderid (79067) as 5 which is correct.

<div value="79067" name="folderid"></div>

However, it doesn't shows the actual value. It's not recognizing "item($i)" function and giving error.

I'm not wrong my friend. The function "getElementByName" returns the colletion of all elements with that name (they could have different TAGs), and length brings you the number of the elements. Try a different approach:

#include <IE.au3>

$oIE = _IEAttach("", "instance", 1)
$Elements = $oIE.document.getElementsByName("folderid")
MsgBox(0, "Number of Elements", $Elements.length)

For $Element In $Elements
    MsgBox(0, "Element Value", $Element.value)
Next

My apologies MichaelHB.

I tried this earlier and no success. :(
