_IETagNameGetCollection crashes in 32-bit mode.

8 posts in this topic

Hi

I need your help to find out if this is related to AutoItWrapper or not.

Environment details: AutoIt3Wrapper v.14.801.2025.0 SciTE v.3.4.4.0   Keyboard:0000041D  OS:WIN_7/Service Pack 1  CPU:X64 OS:X64

My master code consequently crashes after a numerous iterations related to this function. I made this attached test code to eliminate all possibilities that I have errors in my code.

Running the code (compiled or in Scite) will always crash in 32-bit mode after 155 iterations, but not in 64-bit (1348690 iterations and still counting). I really need my script to work in Win 7 32-bit.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoIt3\Include\IE.au3" (1860) : ==> The requested action with this object has failed.:
Return SetError($_IESTATUS_Success, $oTemp.GetElementsByTagName($sTagName).length, $oTemp.GetElementsByTagName($sTagName))
Return SetError($_IESTATUS_Success, $oTemp^ ERROR

Any ideas?

Regards

Andy

Hi mLipok

I have tried compiling in both environments on different hardware. Just the same problem in both 32bit and 64bit Windows 7

Yes, i tried both variants.

I even tried to update my Scite to the latest version 3.6.2 after my initial post, and did the same tests in Production 3.3.14.2 and Beta 3.3.15.0

The only thing different in Beta is that it crashes after 157 iterations instead of 155 from Production 3.3.14.2

Mr mLipok, can you reproduce the problems on your side and environment?

This is already reported COM Error Handler - not always fires event
You can do one of this solution:

  1. back to AutoIt 3.3.12.x
  2. make a workaround
  3. wait for fixing ( I hope soon in next beta or release )
