Hello

I'm very new to Autoit.  Need a little help with SQL query.

I would like for autoit to do the following .

Ask user to enter parameter in Koda input control

Based on the parameter entered a sql query will run and return the values.

Right now I'm using chrisL script for SQL.

#include <ButtonConstants.au3>
#include <EditConstants.au3>
#include <GUIConstantsEx.au3>
#include <WindowsConstants.au3>
#Region ### START Koda GUI section ### Form=
Global $Form1 = GUICreate("Form1", 392, 185, -1, -1)
Global $UserInput = GUICtrlCreateInput("", 24, 32, 193, 21)
Global $RunQueryButton = GUICtrlCreateButton("RunQuery", 24, 104, 75, 25)
GUISetState(@SW_SHOW)
#EndRegion ### END Koda GUI section ###

While 1
 $nMsg = GUIGetMsg()
 Switch $nMsg
  Case $GUI_EVENT_CLOSE
   Exit

  Case $RunQueryButton
   $dataFromuser = GUICtrlRead($UserInput)

 EndSwitch
WEnd

#include <Array.au3>
 #include "_SQL.au3"

Local $SQLSERVERADDRESS = "SQLEXPRESS"
 Local $DB = ""
 Local $userName = ""
 Local $password = ""

_SQL_Startup()

_SQL_RegisterErrorHandler()
 _SQL_Connect(-1,$SQLSERVERADDRESS,$DB,$userName,$password)

Local $aResult, $iRows, $iColumns
 Local $Query = "SELECT Name, Chk From Prov Where Name = 'AD'"

_SQL_GetTable2D(-1, $Query, $aResult, $iRows, $iColumns)

If NOT @error then
     _ArrayDisplay($aResult)

Else

    Msgbox(0,"",_SQL_GetErrMsg())

 EndIf

All I can say right now is to make the input imune to SQL injection. (https://www.explainxkcd.com/wiki/index.php/327:_Exploits_of_a_Mom)

In other words carefully sanitize user input by escaping literal strings.

This wonderful site allows debugging and testing regular expressions (many flavors available). An absolute must have in your bookmarks.

Anticipating Errors :  "Any program that accepts data from a user must include code to validate that data before sending it to the data store. You cannot rely on the data store, ...., or even your programming language to notify you of problems. You must check every byte entered by your users, making sure that data is the correct type for its field and that required fields are not empty."
