Control other app via API, possible?

8 posts in this topic

Hi guys.

I am using softphone application for Windows called Bria 4. It has API written in C# (http://www.counterpath.com/bria-desktop-api/).

I am just curious if I could use it with Autoit somehow to only get phone number when incoming call is ringing. Is it possible to do with AutoIt?

Since it wants to force us to purchase something to be able to see the API, I have to say this.

If you can access the COM objects and you have the API list, the answer should be yes.

Thanks for reply. Would you be able to help me with this as I am not familiar with C# or COM objects. Here's sample API from that website:

I think function

GET /status “call”

 would be needed to get incoming phone number.

Cześć / Hi

This is not COM interface, but just POST / GET via WINHTTP request

here you have some links:

I have studied the documentation, and now I know more.
But now I have a more specific question:
How connect to Bria API using pipe connection it is named pipe “apipipe”
Already understand how to connect to the HTTP service, but how to connect to named pipe ?

I see there is "BriaAPI_C#_Sample_1.0"

http://sourceforge.net/projects/briaapi/

#region NAMED_PIPE_SETUP

      delegate void ReceivedMessageDelegate(object sender, CReceivedMessageEventArgs e);

      private CNamedPipe PipeClient { get; set; }

      private void StartPipeClient(int timeout)
      {
         PipeClient = new CNamedPipe("apipipe");

         PipeClient.OnReceivedMessage += new EventHandler<CReceivedMessageEventArgs>(OnReceivedMessage);
         PipeClient.OnPipeConnectionSuccess += new EventHandler(OnPipeConnectionSuccess);
         PipeClient.OnPipeConnectionTimeout += new EventHandler(OnPipeConnectionTimeout);
         PipeClient.OnPipeConnectionBroken += new EventHandler(OnPipeConnectionBroken);

         PipeClient.Start(timeout);
      }

      private void StopPipeClient()
      {
         if (PipeClient != null)
         {
            PipeClient.Stop();
         }
      }

      private void SendPipeMessage(string message)
      {
         Debug.WriteLine("---------------------- SENDING THROUGH PIPE -----------------------");
         Debug.WriteLine(message);
         Debug.WriteLine("-------------------------------------------------------------------");

         PipeClient.Write(message);
      }

      #endregion

      #region NAMED_PIPE_EVENT_HANDLING

      void OnReceivedMessage(object sender, CReceivedMessageEventArgs e)
      {
         // Ignore the (very frequent) pipe 'heart-beat'
         if (e.Message == "_pipecheck")
         {
            return;
         }

         Debug.WriteLine("------------------------- PIPE RECEIVED ---------------------------");
         Debug.WriteLine(e.Message);
         Debug.WriteLine("-------------------------------------------------------------------");

         ParseIncomingMessage(e.Message);
      }

      void OnPipeConnectionSuccess(object sender, EventArgs e)
      {
         if (OnConnected != null)
         {
            OnConnected(this, new EventArgs());
         }
      }

      void OnPipeConnectionTimeout(object sender, EventArgs e)
      {
         if (OnTimeout != null)
         {
            OnTimeout(this, new EventArgs());
         }
      }

      void OnPipeConnectionBroken(object sender, EventArgs e)
      {
         if (OnDisconnected != null)
         {
            OnDisconnected(this, new EventArgs());
         }
      }

      #endregion

But I'm not C# coder so I'm not able to help you more.

Maybe some other member can show you a way.

#include <NamedPipes.au3>
msgbox(0,'',_NamedPipes_WaitNamedPipe ( 'apipipe' ,1000 )

I had to change first parameter to:

".pipeapipipe"

and it looks like it return some values. It's a good beginning. Thank you again mLipok!
