gcue
mlipok, i finally figured out Melba's UDF =) this is what is required to make the color changes - the examples had so much going on it was hard to see at first.. #include "GUIListViewEx.au3" ;load listview items to an array $arrayList = _GUIListViewEx_ReadToArray($listview) ;initialize $lvIndex = _GUIListViewEx_Init($listview, $arrayList, "", "", "", 32) ;now we can change colors _GUIListViewEx_SetColour(1, ";0xFFCCCC", 1, 2) _GUIListViewEx_SetColour(1, ";0xFFCCCC", 1, 3) thanks for your help! Moderators Melba23 Posted July 26, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 26, 2016 gcue, I do realise how complicated the UDF has become - remember that you can always post in the UDF thread for help. However, I suggest you use the returned UDF index value for the ListView rather then hard-coding it: ;initialize $lvIndex = _GUIListViewEx_Init($listview, $arrayList, "", "", "", 32) ;now we can change colors _GUIListViewEx_SetColour($lvIndex, ";0xFFCCCC", 1, 2) _GUIListViewEx_SetColour($lvIndex, ";0xFFCCCC", 1, 3) That way you will not run into problems if you ever have more than 2 ListViews in your GUI - or if I ever change the internal workings of the UDF to return different values when a ListView is initialised. gcue
i think i may go another route though because i am dealing with over 50,000 listview items.. so it may be easier to go through autobert's method and do it via an array and wm_notify thanks again!
