Either you use StringRegExpReplace or string functions. Example for the latter:

Global $aArray[4] = ["hello_allAP123 haksjdhk kahsdjkhas", "hiall_!!AP09w8e09r809wer", "how_are_youAPiuwyeirkkwjekrh", "stringAPsomething......"]
For $i = 0 To UBound($aArray, 1) - 1
    $iPos = StringInStr($aArray[$i], "AP", 1)
    If $iPos > 0 Then ConsoleWrite(StringLeft($aArray[$i], $iPos - 1) & @LF)
Next

superbosu,

And an example using a RegEx:

$sText = "hello_allAP123 haksjdhk kahsdjkhas" & @CRLF & _
         "hiall_!!AP09w8e09r809wer" & @CRLF & _
         "how_are_youAPiuwyeirkkwjekrh" & @CRLF & _
         "stringAPsomething......"

$sNew_Text = StringRegExpReplace($sText, "(AP.*)(\r|\z)", "")

MsgBox(0, "New Text", $sNew_Text)

Decode:

(AP.*)(\r|\z) - Capture AP and any following character until you find a @CRLF or the end of the string
""        - Replace it with a blank string

All clear? :)

ConsoleWrite(StringRegExpReplace('hello_allAP123 haksjdhk kahsdjkhas', '(.+)AP[^\r\n]+', '\1') & @CRLF) ; Capture and store any character in group \1 until AP is found. After AP capture any character until @CRLF, @CR or @LF is located.

Yet Another RegEx attempt

;Original code : M23
;Modified : Phoenix XL

$sText = "hello_allAP123 haksjdhk kahsdjkhas" & @LF & _
         "hiall_!!AP09w8e09r809wer" & @CR & _
         "how_are_youAPiuwyeirkkwjekrh" & @CRLF & _
         "stringAPsomething......"

;CR getting replaced, figure out the case where there is no line feed required for breaks
;The OP will get joined the separate strings

;Simultaneously the quatifier should be lazy orelse find out what happens ..!

$sNew_Text = StringRegExpReplace($sText, "(AP.*?)(\r|\n|$)", "\2") ;This will do the work.

MsgBox(0, "New Text", $sNew_Text)

;Indeed I feel this is a better example
$sNew_Text = StringRegExpReplace($sText, "(AP[^\v]*)", "")

;(AP[^\v]*) - Match AP after which any number of non-vertcal space character are present. Finally repalced to none

MsgBox(0, "New Text", $sNew_Text)

PhoenixXL,

Just for interest I use this SRE to cater for all possible combinations of @CRLF, @CR, @LF in a file - they are all replaced by @CRLF:

; Ensure EoL is @CRLF and break text into lines
$sText = StringRegExpReplace($sText, "((?<!\x0d)\x0a|\x0d(?!\x0a))", @CRLF)
Local $asLines = StringSplit($sText, @CRLF, 1)

I will let you work out how it does it. ;)

And if you have any improvements to suggest I would be delighted to hear them. :)

Melba,

In PCRE v stands for "any vertical whitespace", i.e.:

U+000A Linefeed

U+000B Vertical tab

U+000C Formfeed

U+000D Carriage return

U+0085 Next line

U+2028 Line separator

U+2029 Paragraph separator

OTOH R stands for "any newline sequence", i.e. the equivalent of:

(?>rn|n|x0b|f|r|x85|x2028|x2029)

Note the use of an atomic grouping (?> ... ).

Hi all and tnx for the solution!

I executed this and works like a charm:

#include <array.au3>
#include <File.au3>

Global $aArray
_FileReadToArray("c:\check\st22_UNAME.txt", $aArray)
$file2 = FileOpen("c:\check\st22_UNAME.txt",2)
For $i = 0 To UBound($aArray, 1) - 1
    $iPos = StringInStr($aArray[$i], "AP", 1)
    If $iPos > 0 Then FileWriteLine($file2, StringLeft($aArray[$i], $iPos - 1)& @CRLF )
Next
FileClose($file2)

tnx a lot !!

Listed codepoints flagged as "vertical whitespace" or "newline sequences" in PCRE (whose characterization derives from Unicode) may be or not acted upon or displayed the same or at all by every editor or control. The NEL codepoint has category "Control" and a glyph similar to ellipsis, like this … This is distinct from the actual horizontal ellipsis … (U+2026) which has category General punctuation.
