baumi Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Hi! I want to create a program that makes it easier to controll my Multimedia-PC by making as many macros per Hotkeys as possible. The Problem is that there are so many Hotkeys already defined by Windows (and other Programs) that I would struggle to find good ones for myself. So the Idea is to have just one Hotkey that switches between regular Keyboard and a "Remote Control" Mode. While in "Remote Control" Mode, only Autoit should register Keystrokes anymore so the keypresses doesn't interfere with the open Programms. For Example: If I press "x", instead of writing a x to the active Programm it should only be used to order my Script to open XBMC. The main Hotkey and starting/controlling the Programms is not a Problem, but I don't know how to block the Keyboard while at the same time still using it for the Script itself... Many Thanks in Advance for any help that you can Give!
JohnOne Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 As I recall there is a hotkey udf in example scripts which binds hotkeys to process. Sorry, I do not remember link or author. baumi Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Stupid me! If you set Hotkey than it's already blocked for normal use (I should have tested it before I wrote my post)! But THANKS for your extremly fast answer! 8D

JohnOne Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Indeed, except it's just as easy for the person who wants it to do the search I make it a rule, if I can't remember exactly how to find I link quickly like the precise name of a udf, I'll just pass on the info of how to find it. I like to promote the use of search also you see AutoIt Absolute Beginners Require a serial Pause Script Video Tutorials by Morthawt ipify Monkey's are, like, natures humans.

Also you provided keywords to search with so it would have been very easy to find (I guess it was Yashied's UDF you were talking about, will check the link.....I was correct.)
