Indeed you are right, which is a good reason for changing the method.

Clever solution, thanks (another learning experience). Did not consider the a = b = c result solution. Slightly modified to accept any numbr of search words.

For readability and also a force of habit I suppose. Since the variables aren't changed then logically these are constant values.

Oh and for people wondering MsgBox(0 should be MsgBox($MB_OK

Next version of AutoIt will document these constants, which can be found in Constants.au3.

You're using v3.3.6.1? Or did you mean v3.3.8.0? Because there were no changes made to AutoIt from v3.3.8.0 to v3.3.8.1, only SciTE Lite was amended.

I don't use that version based on the fact that I have a 64-bit machine and many enhancements were made to the UDFs, especially the old bug with $NM_CLICK not returning the correct index value of a ListView when using the x64 version of AutoIt.

Well there are still changes needed in some of my older ongoing projects. Some of these are in the process of being rewritten to incorporate some of the enhancements. It sometimes seems a good idea to wait and see what changes have been made before making certain decisions. The next release will probably be a big one. :)

We can't assume that people out there use the latest beta version of AutoIt. So we still have to use magic numbers with MsgBox, right?

No, because these are already in the current stable version, just not documented. Which is why I suspect people aren't using them.

@kylomas, why do you credit guinness for this? Anyway the solution was shown to be faulty which is why I modified the method.

Sorry for the later reply...Because I first noticed the "a=b=c" construct in post #17...I missed the post that showed that this does not work for repeated strings...apologies if I offended anyone!
