Trying to find a date between two other dates

Recommended Posts

nitekram

Not sure how to fix this function...I want the Return to be true if today's date falls between the start date and the end date. I really thought I had this figured out until I ran across an issue where the start date is in the prior month and the end date is in the current month.

Any help?

My raw data is as such:

!< START 2013-01-31

!< ENDS 2013-02-07

!< TODAY 2013-02-05

Func CheckTodaysDate($Starts, $Ends, $Today)
    ConsoleWrite('CALLING CheckTodaysDate -->' & @CRLF & @CRLF)
    ConsoleWrite("!< START " & $Starts & @CRLF)
    ConsoleWrite("!< ENDS " & $Ends & @CRLF)
    ConsoleWrite("!< TODAY " & $Today & @CRLF)
    ConsoleWrite(@CRLF)

    Local $aStarts = StringSplit($Starts, '-')
    Local $aEnds = StringSplit($Ends, '-')
    Local $aToday = StringSplit($Today, '-')

    ConsoleWrite(@CRLF)

    For $x = 0 To UBound($aStarts) - 1
        ConsoleWrite($x & ' = ' & $aStarts[$x] & '   ')
    Next
    ConsoleWrite(@CRLF)
    For $x = 0 To UBound($aEnds) - 1
        ConsoleWrite($x & ' = ' & $aEnds[$x] & '     ')
    Next
    ConsoleWrite(@CRLF)
    For $x = 0 To UBound($aToday) - 1
        ConsoleWrite($x & ' = ' & $aToday[$x] & '    ')
    Next
    ConsoleWrite(@CRLF)

    ConsoleWrite(@CRLF & 'CHECKING -->> STARTS ' & $Starts & ' ENDS ' & $Ends & ' ? TODAY ' & $Today & @CRLF)

    If $aStarts[1] = $aToday[1] Or $aEnds[1] = $aToday[1] Then
        If $aStarts[2] = $aToday[2] Or $aEnds[2] = $aToday[2] Then
            If $aStarts[3] = $aToday[3] Or ($aStarts[3] <= $aToday[3] And $aEnds[3] >= $aToday[3]) Or $aEnds[3] = $aToday[3] Then
                ;MsgBox('', 'Change Today', '')
                ConsoleWrite('MATCH FOUND -->> ' & $Starts & ')' & ' (ENDS = ' & $Ends & ')' & ' (Today = ' & $Today & ')' & @CRLF)
                ConsoleWrite('-->' & @CRLF & @CRLF)

Shouldn't your tests be?:

If $aStarts[1] <= $aToday[1] And $aEnds[1] >= $aToday[1] Then
        If $aStarts[2] <= $aToday[2] And $aEnds[2] >= $aToday[2] Then

Something like this:

#include <date.au3>
Global $sStartDate = "2013-01-31"
Global $sEndDate = "2013-02-07"
Global $sCurrentDate = "2013-02-05"

That works - thanks. - though you made it look a lot easier then I tried. I will have to look up that function _DateDiff, in fact, I think I might have to revisit the newer functions and read them. I know there have been quite a few new ones added.

I guess what I should have said was, I had printed the main UDF's from the help file and really studied them - years ago. But since then, there are some added functions that start with _NameOfFunction - which, I have not really used in the past - except _Array? ones. I guess you use what you know and need, and then learn more - I just stopped reading.

And now looking at the list of all them - I am scared! But interested.

Thanks again - @water - for all your help!!!

EDIT

Plus I learned this

IIRC is "If I Remember Correctly"

@Water,

why are you changing the delimiters first?

_DateTimeSplit()) shows all supported formats by all Date functions I wrote for the original set of Date.au3 functions. :)

Cheers,

Jos

Because - according to the docu - "/" is the separator for _DateDiff.

Edit: You mean all _Date* functions accept the date formats as listed in _DateTimeSplit?!

In this case I would like to see a small remark in any of the _Date* functions if not already done for the next beta.

I know the documentation doesn't always repeat all format options... don't remember why we did that, but do know I build generic support for the formats listed in _DateTimeSplit()

Jos.

I will have a look at the latest documentation. If the format options are missing I will add a remark pointing to _DateTimeSplit.

Would that be OK?

This does work, but it does NOT say anything about the types of formats supported in the helpfile

Edit added NOT

EDIT

I know I should not have written that way.the function _DateTimpSplit() does show supported formats but the _DateDiff() does not list them.

      So what i need is a function that I pass a starting date into and it counts up to the current date. Example:
      2009-05-30
      2009-05-31
      2009-06-01
      ...
      2018-06-18
      How would I do that? I found the Date.au3 in the includes but I can't find anything close to a time object like I'm used to working with in Java. I just need some $date = setDate(2009-05-30) and from there I could just add a day every time. I need this to be in the very format I stated earlier and from what I can see everytime related to date and time is automatically changed to my german locale.
      €: I already tried setDate but instead it changed my PCs clock. Not quite what i was looking for

      And moharam month ... etc
      I hope my question is clear for you

      So I get:
      $aMatch[0] Date(1499295600000)   this is supposed to be 06 Jul 2017
      $aMatch[0] Date(1483574400000)  this is supposed to be 05 Jan 2017
      does anybody know the formula to calculate the date from the large number?  It doesn't seem to be anything to do with DateToDayValue.
      thanks in advance.

      I am taking a Date & Time and splitting them using _DateTimeSplit, so that I can create a filename in the format: YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.jpg.  The only issue is that if the month, or day, is a two-digit number that begins with a zero (so less than 10), then the month, or day, is formatted as a single-digit number.  Suggestions on how to accomplish this?
      Example:
      20180101 becomes 2018, 1, 1
      20180303 becomes 2018, 3, 3
      20180505 becomes 2018, 5, 5
      20180606 becomes 2018, 6, 6
      20180909 becomes 2018, 9, 9
      What I want:
      20180101 becomes 2018, 01, 01
      20180303 becomes 2018, 03, 03
      20180505 becomes 2018, 05, 05
      20180606 becomes 2018, 06, 06
      20180909 becomes 2018, 09, 09
      Func _CreateFileNameFromDateTimeFormat($sDateThatWasChangedIntoDateTimeFormat = "2018/01/02 10:29:39") Local $aMyDate, $aMyTime, $sNewImageFileName _DateTimeSplit($sDateThatWasChangedIntoDateTimeFormat, $aMyDate, $aMyTime) _ArrayDisplay($aMyDate) _ArrayDisplay($aMyTime) ;This will become file name $sNewImageFileName = $aMyDate[1] & $aMyDate[2] & $aMyDate[3] & "_" & $aMyTime[1] & $aMyTime[2] & $aMyTime[3] & ".jpg" ConsoleWrite('@@ Debug(' & @ScriptLineNumber & ') : $sNewImageFileName = ' & $sNewImageFileName & @CRLF & '>Error code: ' & @error & @CRLF) ;### Debug Console EndFunc ;==>_CreateFileNameFromDateTimeFormat

      I've been looking through some different functions(not sure if that's the right word) to get the Date and time and I can't find one that doesn't include "/ " or ":" in what is returned.

      I'm trying to create a file name with this format "QuickConfig_MMDDYYYY_HHMM"  (doesn't matter if 24 or 12hr format)
      #include <Date.au3> Func _SaveConfig MouseClick('primary',155, 46, 1, 0) ;clicks save as WinWait('Save bluePRINT Configuration As...','', 4) MouseClick('primary',632, 47, 1, 0) ;clicks the file path bar $Documents = @MyDocumentsDir $FilePath = $Documents & '\BP3 Configs' Send($FilePath) Send('{ENTER}') MouseClick('primary',166, 580, 1, 0) ;clicks file name bar $FileName = 'QuickConfig_' & _NowDate & '_' & _NowTime Send($FileName) Send('{ENTER}') EndFunc

      I'm wondering if there is a function somewhere to do this?
