Update

I'm not sure if this is important to tell or not:

When we retrive the INI-format content from some sources (in my case, it's from MySQL database),

it return @LF for line-break, not @CRLF.

This cause IniVirtualRead get no result.

In my case, I simply do StringReplace($whatever_i_got_from_the_MySQL_database, @LF, @CRLF) to solve it.

This might be very confusing for noob like me, because when we display it using MsgBox or ConsoleWrite,

it will be look identical. The different only shown up when we display the ASII code (ASC) for each characters.

Thanks.

It's for you more so than AZJIO has he knows regular expressions. Your replace is OK, but what if $var had @CR instead? This regular expression covers all bases of converting both @CR ® and @LF (n) to @CRLF (rn).

Oh, i understand now what you mean, i get it :)

Ok i'm going to replace StringReplace($var, @LF, @CRLF) with StringRegExpReplace($sData, '((?<!r)n|r(?!n))', @CRLF)

Thanks again!

StringAddCR

I have converted the ini-file in different formats:

1. @CRLF
2. @LF
3. @CR
In all cases IniRead read values.

I will test the IniDelete, IniWrite, IniReadSection, IniReadSectionNames, IniRenameSection, IniWriteSection, and then possibly update.

Hi AZJIO,

I found a bug in IniVirtualSPE

#include <IniVirtualSPE.au3>
#include <Array.au3>

$s_ini_Text = '[Global]' & @CRLF & _
              'TargetFile="c:\abc1.txt"|"c:\abc2.txt"|"c:\abc3.txt"'

$aTargetFile = StringSplit(_IniVirtualSPE_Read($s_ini_Text, "Global", "TargetFile", ""), "|")

_ArrayDisplay($aTargetFile)

As you can see, after _IniVirtualSPE_Read the first and the last " are get deleted,

might be affected other function too

Hello,

I recently recompiled a script using this and found that it no longer read any INI file values after the first one - it could never find them even though they clearly appear in the array of values. I've tried with v3.3.10.2 and beta v3.3.11.4

What I discovered after some lengthy debugging is that from the 2nd value onward the value name had a "carriage return" before the name (I had to debug array.au3 to find this).

Reason seems to be because I do not have an empty line between the entries in my INI file. For example:

[UpdateNNPlus]
PHPExe=php.exe
MySQLServiceName=MySQL
MiscFolder=D:\Websites\nnplus\misc
UpdateScriptsFolder=update_scripts

in the array looks like:

Row|Col 0|Col 1
[0]|4|
[1]|PHPExe|php.exe
[2]|MySQLServiceName|MySQL
[3]|MiscFolder|D:\Websites\nnplus\misc
[4]|UpdateScriptsFolder|update_scripts

and looks fine, however I can find and get the value for PHPExe:

$PHPExe = _IniVirtual_Read($INIArraySections, $INISectionName, "PHPExe", "not found") & " ")

which returns: "php.exe", but all the others come back as not found:

$MySQLServiceName = _IniVirtual_Read($INIArraySections, $INISectionName, "MySQLServiceName", "not found")

returns: "not found", where as:

[UpdateNNPlus]
PHPExe=php.exe

MySQLServiceName=MySQL

MiscFolder=D:\Websites\nnplus\misc

UpdateScriptsFolder=update_scripts

looks the same in the array:

Row|Col 0|Col 1
[0]|4|
[1]|PHPExe|php.exe
[2]|MySQLServiceName|MySQL
[3]|MiscFolder|D:\Websites\nnplus\misc
[4]|UpdateScriptsFolder|update_scripts

and I can find the value of all entries without issue.

I don't mind that I need to do this now that I know what the problem is, but the without the extra lines it was working in previous releases of AutoIT - sorry can't remember which that was as I have upgraded my system since then.

Just thought you should know.

Hmmmm....seems that writing out the INI file is broken as well as I ended up with duplicated entries that built up until I aborted my program and reverted back to a previous version.

Hopefully someone can fix this - I would, but the comments are not in English and I don't understand what most of the regex are doing, which may be where it's going wrong.

@Taomyn

Add at the beginning of each regular expression (*LF).

This will restore the standard interpretation of the end of the line

Thanks, I will try this tonight. I was able to find a machine with a previous build of AutoIT and could compile a working version, but a fix would obviously be better.

The comment at the end of the section name seems to be throwing this off.

If I posted any code, assume that code was written using the latest release version unless stated otherwise. Also, if it doesn't work on XP I can't help with that because I don't have access to XP, and I'm not going to.
