Xtian Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) Hi, I'm having a problem understanding the proper use of _inetsmtpmail. It says that I can send email without using third party program but I dont see where I need to put my username and password.. Not sure if that's the reason why i kept on getting error. #include <Inet.au3> Local $s_SmtpServer = "smtp.gmail.com" Local $s_FromName = "My Name" Local $s_FromAddress = "sender@gmail.com" Local $s_ToAddress = "receiver@gmail.com" Local $s_Subject = "My Test UDF" Local $as_Body[2] $as_Body[0] = "Testing the new email udf" $as_Body[1] = "Second Line" Local $Response = _INetSmtpMail($s_SmtpServer, $s_FromName, $s_FromAddress, $s_ToAddress, $s_Subject, $as_Body) Local $err = @error If $Response = 1 Then MsgBox(0, "Success!", "Mail sent") Else MsgBox(0, "Error!", "Mail failed with error code " & $err) EndIf -- There's no authentication and I dont know where to type my username and password. I also found this guide its working but complicated. I only need to send simple email , no attachments etc. any help? Edited May 19, 2013 by Xtian Sorry for being noob but... thanks to you im learned something new.

Xtian Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 If it is working, why don't you use it? Because its complicated and I don't even know how the basic syntax of _inetsmtp work, so why would I use a code I cant even understand. I don't want to be a leech and copy / paste codes all over the net. I want to learn... @guiness will do next time.. sorry Sorry for being noob but... thanks to you im learned something new.
Developers Jos Posted May 19, 2013 Developers Posted May 19, 2013 The supplied _inetsmtpmail() only supports regular SMTP email. The _inetsmtpmailcom UDF is a CDO wrapper and does support adding attachments and secure SMTP used by GMail and others. So I would say: Start learning and use the right UDF for the task at hand. Xtian Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Thank you Jos, that's what I want to do but I don't know where to read the UDF for that. Would you mind giving a link of complete UDF list. I usually check the offline help file included but I can't find it. thanks again. Sorry for being noob but... thanks to you im learned something new.
