vPaint - GDI+ image editor

Sorry for the delays. I'm working on my school website and it's taking my whole time and attention. But, since it's holiday in Poland, I'm back here with the new version:

Changes in this version are:

  • Fixed selection problem (when you had multiple selections and tried to choose one of them in the Objects panel, vPaint crashed)
  • Added paths and a separate tool for creating and editing them.

Note: Selections and paths are not saved in the V4I file for now.

New version:

  • Added path-to-selection conversion (see path context menu in Objects panel)
  • Recompiled Interference and fixed some problems with it (now works on Windows 7)
  • Paths in the viewport are now antialiased
  • Paths can be hidden

Another update:

  • Fixed selection and path behavior after cropping the image
  • Added path-to-layer conversion
  • Masking layers with paths
  • Fixed font problems (finally, I hope)

Sure, that's the reason why I published it. ^_^ Further I came also to my mind with your script...

I will release in a few minutes the latest version with two additional blur filter.

FINALLY!

Another update for today:

  • Layer renaming and opacity (right-click the layer in the list and select 'Layer options')
  • Layer blending modes (SLOW AS HELL!)

PS. UEZ's BitmapApplyFilter UDF seems to have problems with vPaint. I'll try to tackle that tomorrow.

Edit: I've just noticed that 'Objects' is 'About...' in the right pane. I'll fix that in the next update. Fixed.

Update time:

  • Blending modes now support opacity
  • Added channel routing (only for Normal blending mode, available in the layer context menu)

Still no idea why your DLL causes vPaint to crash. I think I'll make another DLL to call your DLL to check if it will work. In the end, I'll end up drowning in a sea of DLLs.

How you are calling the functions? Be careful with the last parameter which returns either a GDI+ or GDI bitmap!

If you are going to use GDI with GDI+ or vice versa your script will crash!

 

In my examples the returned bitmaps are always GDI format!

 

 

Btw, vPaint is very unstable - it crashes very often. :mellow:

It turns out, that the DLL doesn't work when it is not in the same directory as the main script is.

And the day when vPaint will not crash, will be the day when a giant pink meteorite will hit the moon and turn it into a daffodil.

You can add the path to the DLL in _GDIPlus_BitmapApplyFilter_Open(<path to DLL>) function. Have you tried it?

Yes. I examined the code more closely and it turns out that the problem was somewhere else. It was the fact that vPaint loads bundled GDI+ DLL from Data\Libraries.

3.9.12:

  • Layers and paths now are properly saved in the V4I file
  • New color picker
  • Paths as layers
  • Collapsible sections in Objects panel

Oh yes, I have to make this function iterative, because of the maximum recursion level in Au3 (it was 3800 I think).

No, there is no hard limit set on recursion level in AutoIt. See this topic for more info on this:

      PSPad4AutoIt3 consists of the Editor PSPad and the Improvement Kit, and can be used as an portable Editor IDE for AutoIt3.
      The author of the PSPad Editor is Jan Fiala. I (Professor Bernd) am only the author of the Improvement Kit.
       
      After months of work, PSPad4AutoIt3 version 1.0.0 beta is now ready.  
      I like to call it the "first real" version, because the Improvement Kit now handles a lot of things autonomously. So PSPad remains operable when an au3 script is started. Also there is now a setup that makes the installation easier. 👍 And for those who don't like/do not want an installer, there is a download without setup. Without setup, the user has to take care of the prerequirements himself. Only recommended for experienced users.
      The core functionalities "Run, Check Syntax, Compile and Comile Dialog" are integrated and work very well. Thanks to @Jos for extending AutoIt3Wrapper!  There are also a few more features that you can find in the main menu, menu item "Scripts" => "_AutoIt". These include "Debug to Console", "Debug to MsgBox" and the "Koda FormDesigner" as a helper for creating GUIs. In this menu there is also an item "_Tips and shortcuts". After a click the AutoIt-relevant shortcuts are displayed.
      The language in the menu "_AutoIt" is English. The language for PSPad in general can be set for more than 40 languages (Main menu => Settings => Program Settings => Language).
      PSPad4AutoIt3 is in a beta stage and does not have many features yet. But I am working on it!

      I had hoped that the changes would not be so severe, so in the downloads the minimum version 3.3.14.0 is still indicated. Unfortunately, it has recently become apparent that with older versions the main functions, e.g. CompilerRunner, the AutoIt3 Help and the upcoming CallTipViewer, fail.

      The downloads can be used so far, but everybody has to take care of the AutoIt3 version 3.3.14.5 by himself!

I know that there are several tools available (also some tools written in AutoIt) but here another one for the collection. It was good exercise for me to code it.

      Just select the Sysinternal Tools folder or create one and press the synchronize button to download the selected items. Click on AutoIt label (near to left upper corner) to open menu.

      I noticed a few issues for my use case with the UDF one being that adding a sample required updating the waveform
      High CPU usage went hand in hand with that requirement
      Another issue was just how long updating took to complete
      I've hopefully rectified that with this version
       
      There are a few changes (only 1 line per graph for instance)
      The addition of a function AddSample (uses graphics paths to speed up drawing samples on update) Gridlines are only generated once A sample finished line can be added UpdateGraph allows you to compress the discarded portion of the graph (it looks kinda cool but uses more CPU) Lower Cpu usage Uses real Control Ids - it is a label control underneath so you get click events and can display text when control is disabled Example (Waveform.au3)
