dont know what to specify haha for dsn - i used to specify server for that i have an address with port.. so not sure what to put

You should RUN in windows ODBC Admin and setup your own DSN . The name should be exaclty the same which you use when you create DSN in ODBC Admin.

This is not proper usage:

DSN and $sServer are not the same things.

right it does look wrong.  but for now it works for what i need to do right now.. i do want to fix it though just need to get this information out to a group of people i'll come back to this and fix it.

in regard to the issue - i was able to resolve the issue in the query..
