Send CTRL-ALT-DEL in RDP-Session - (Moved)

I try to send CTRL-ALT-Delete to give the remote user the possibility to change his password by himself. Normally you can press ctrl-alt-delete, but this goes to the local desktop. In normal RDP-Sessions you can press ctrl-alt-end instead, but this is a "special" webbased rdp-session, where ctrl-alt-end does not work.

So i tried to send ctrl-alt-del via autoit script:

Send("{LCTRL}{ALT}{DEL}")

but nothing happens.

How can i send ctrl+alt+delete via autoit?

Hi,

this brings up the taskmanager but there you cannot change your password.

Why you want to automate the process to password change ?
This should be done in person/manually.

this is not about automating the password change. The user is simply not able to open the password change dialog in this environment. So i want to give my users the possibility to open the password dialog and change their password by themself.

If he is not able to open this dialog, then maybe here is main problem, as this should work as designed by MS DevTeam.

As i told you before, this is a special webbased RDP-Solution. Not standard MS stuff.

Can you elaborate on this "special web based RDP-Solution"? Do you have control over the remote computer? If yes, then maybe you can design a software solution to change the password without sending Ctrl+Alt+Delete, maybe a simple script which listens for a HotKey in the remote computer and launches the relevant password changing program.

This is still omniting security rules designed by MS DevTeam (I mean on Windows instaled on remote computer).

It is still not clear (ambiguous) if OP wants to change the password of a machine owned by Microsoft, thus I asked about more details on this "special RDP session". OP wouldn't be able to change the remote computer's password anyway if they are not authorized to do it, since the administrators would (hopefully) have disabled the related mechanisms.

You probably gonna lost the controle of the remote computer and maybe you would lost the connection after a too long input in the password screen.

 

This is the same way as TeamViewer the most popular tool in France. If you dont run your RDP tool s a service you wont be able to see what is happenning while in the password mire. Same as AutoIT too if i remember.... ?

You cannot automate somthing that the system is not prepared for. I guess...

 

maybe the solution is to do somthing with AD.au3 udf ?

 

If your customers are using Win 10/8/8.1 your solution is to : send W + i Then go to account

Also you can go in the Manage screen if you want to manage on premise users.*

Ctrl+Alt+End will bring up the "Ctrl+Alt+Del" screen in RDP.

....oh, guess if I read the OP better, I wouldn't have suggested this, sorry.

Thanks to those who have proposed a possible solution.

In the meantime i found a solution directly from the manufacturer of my RDP-Solution.

Just make a simple GUI for the user to use and use the link above to handle the back end work. That way no Ctrl-Alt-Del and the user can do it with ease
