I need a guideline for storage of data.

I'm looking for an cool and easy solution for storage of data. I was thinking of an array, but was stuck in how I can search and move data from one column to another column.

In exampel 1 have some numbers 1 to 3 and they are in my column0

In exampel 2 I want to search for number 2 and move it to C1

In exampel 3 I want to search for number 3 and move it to C1

In exampel 4 I want to search for number 3 and move it to C2

In exampel 5 I want to search for number 1 and move it to C1 and it should be before number 2

Exampel 1       Exampel 2       Exampel 3       Exampel 4       Exampel 5
C0  C1  C2      C0  C1  C2      C0  C1  C2      C0  C1  C2      C0  C1  C2
1               1   2           1   2           1   2   3           1   3
2               3                   3                               2
3

How could this be done?

Have you looked at the Excel functions? You could use _Excel_RangeFind to find the number/char you're looking for, then RangeWrite to move it where you want it.

No, I haven't.

Is it possible to have excel hidden? I don't need to have it visible.

Yes, look in the help file under _Excel_Open for your options.

I might look in the wrong spot in the help file, but I don't see any like:

rowcount(ColumnA) or Columncount(A) or something like that.

Look under the anything _Excel_Range*, all of these functions have examples that will show you how to work with a range of cells/rows to accomplish what you want.

Now, if you don't know what cells/rows will be in use in the spreadsheet, that is a different beast (but one I would think you'd have been more specific in mentioning by now if it were the case) ;)

Give us an example what you try to do and we will tell you how do it in AutoIt.
Please have a look at the wiki and you will see how the Excel UDF works with ranges: https://www.autoitscript.com/wiki/Excel_Range

Hi Water.

I was hoping that the examples in my start post was good enough.

I don't have any code, if that is was you are thinking about. My goal with the post was to find a way to save my data. Not for saving my data to a file. At first I was thinking of having 1 array with 3 columns, but then I thought if it was possible to do what my startpost examples shows. Then I was thinking about to have 3 arrays that would show 1 columns each and then just move the numbers from one to another.

_Excel_RangeFind and _Excel_RangeCopyPaste will do what you are looking for. The examples from the help file for those two commands should give you an idea.

Can it also count row for the active column?

I tried the example for RangeCopyPaste. I get attach error. I guess I have to have Excel?

I don't think you should do that. I'm not interested to have a excel file.

Can it not be done in an array?

You are talking about "storage of data". How long do you want to store the data? Means: When you restart your script or your computer, should the data still be available?

But I don't have an example. The content of my "array" has different content.

Valnarut, you are not making it easy to assist you as you don't seem to be reading the questions people are posing to you. Water has a legitimate question which will help us help you - how long does the data in your array need to exist? Is it only for the life of the script, or does it need to still be on the computer after the script ends?

      Hi.
A user have to be a member of specific groups. If the user is a member of 1 of the below groups it has to a member of "Mailuser_". If not then I need to add user to the "Mailuser_".
But how can I search in the array. In the code I do If...then, but it will just jump to my next if...then and search in that "index". But that is not what I want. It seems that I have to do a new For...To, right? But there have to be a easier way to do this.

      Hello guys,

im trying to solved a problem that I have.

Need to get some chinese text from an old Wise script, and in the wise file says f.e. Ù×÷ϵͳ¡£ ÇëÉý¼¶Ä. Is there any way to convert it to traditional chinese?

      Already tryied the following code...

#include <MsgBoxConstants.au3> Example() Func Example() ; Define the string that will be converted later. ; NOTE: This string may show up as ?? in the help file and even in some editors. ; This example is saved as UTF-8 with BOM. It should display correctly in editors ; which support changing code pages based on BOMs. Local Const $sString = "Ù×÷ϵͳ¡£ ÇëÉý¼¶Ä" ; Temporary variables used to store conversion results. $dBinary will hold ; the original string in binary form and $sConverted will hold the result ; afte it's been transformed back to the original format. Local $dBinary = Binary(""), $sConverted = "" ; Convert the original UTF-8 string to an ANSI compatible binary string. $dBinary = StringToBinary($sString) ; Convert the ANSI compatible binary string back into a string. $sConverted = BinaryToString($dBinary) ; Display the resulsts. Note that the last two characters will appear ; as ?? since they cannot be represented in ANSI. DisplayResults($sString, $dBinary, $sConverted, "ANSI") ; Convert the original UTF-8 string to an UTF16-LE binary string. $dBinary = StringToBinary($sString, 2) ; Convert the UTF16-LE binary string back into a string. $sConverted = BinaryToString($dBinary, 2) ; Display the resulsts. DisplayResults($sString, $dBinary, $sConverted, "UTF16-LE") ; Convert the original UTF-8 string to an UTF16-BE binary string. $dBinary = StringToBinary($sString, 3) ; Convert the UTF16-BE binary string back into a string. $sConverted = BinaryToString($dBinary, 3) ; Display the resulsts. DisplayResults($sString, $dBinary, $sConverted, "UTF16-BE") ; Convert the original UTF-8 string to an UTF-8 binary string. $dBinary = StringToBinary($sString, 4) ; Convert the UTF8 binary string back into a string. $sConverted = BinaryToString($dBinary, 4) ; Display the resulsts. Is there a function out there that will edit an existing file witha a "Save" and "Cancel" at the bottom?
      Example: Funcrion("TestFile.txt")
